Wonderfully Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hello and thanks for stopping by.  If you haven’t ever done the Wednesday Hodgepodge then I strongly recommend you hopping on over Here and join in.  Joyce is very creative with her questions and always makes you think.  Be sure to leave a comment below and then hop over and visit Joyce and some of the other bloggers.  Who knows you might just meet your new best friend, the neighbor down the street or someone who is a great listener with awesome insight and advise.

1. Besides left over Easter goodies, what's something currently kept in a basket at your house?

---- Oranges,  my husband is a big fan of fresh fruit so we always have Oranges, grapes or banana’s on hand.  He can pick the best ones out of the bunch.

2. 'The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.' ~Michelangelo Buonarroti

So which one are you...the one who aims too high, or the one who aims too low? Have you ever seen The Sistine Chapel? Did you know Michelangelo's surname prior to answering this question?

---- I have a tendency to aim right in the middle.  I know what I want and what I want to accomplish but at the same time I factor in that I am not in control of everything and make adjustments accordingly.  As for the Sistine Chapel, well that is something that I would love to see but have not.  I need to get over the fear of flying over water first.  No actually I didn't know his surname….see that is why I love this Hodgepodge.  Learn something new every time.

3. April 7th is National Beer Day. Hmmm...wonder how that's celebrated? Do you like beer? Have a favorite? If you're not a beer drinker do you have any recipes you enjoy cooking that call for beer?

---- I used to drink Michelob Dry when I was younger because it was the only thing that didn't give me a headache.  When they stopped making it I stopped drinking beer.  Then comes along my husband, who loves beer and got me to drinking LandShark.  It is actually a nice beer, no after taste and no headache afterwards.

4. When did you last travel somewhere new? Tell us where? How'd it go?

---- I would have to say that was in November.  I went to Springdale, OH to the AVON Return Center with my DM and a couple of other Representatives.  It was a nice drive up there and we got to get a lot of great things that were on a major discount.

5. The value of _________________________is greatly overrated.

---- High priced skincare/makeup.  I am sorry but you can get the same quality if not better skincare through AVON as you would from Clinique or Estee Lauder for a fraction of the price.  Trust me when I say I have used all three and my favorite is still the AVON Brand.  Not because I sell it either.  I have actually found that my skin responds better to it then the higher dollar product.  I also have several customers that say the same.  So if you haven’t tried it you might like it and you will save money.

6. What's a pet peeve of yours when it comes to restaurant dining?

---- Slow waiters/waitresses.  I know that they are usually busy but seriously when they walk past you like a gazillion times and don’t acknowledge you then there is an issue.  Usually the issue is that they aren’t going to get a tip if we don’t get service soon as in Now.

7. It's Poetry Month...share a favorite poem, either the title, a few lines you find meaningful, or the whole kit and caboodle.

---- oh wow, I wouldn't even know what to pick on this one.  I don’t think I have read poetry in forever.  I guess it would be this one below even though it is sad it is still hopeful.

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
Mary Frye (1932)
