Zebras to finish out the #AtoZChallenge

Hello everyone and welcome back to the last letter on this AtoZ Challenge.  There isn't a whole lot that comes to mind with the letter Z except for Zoo and Zebra's.  I believe most all of us have been to or seen both of these things.  So to finish this out I am going to share some of the most adorable pictures I can find on Zebra's.

Baby bonding with it's mom

Flash back to the 80's.  Had to share the pants

Nursery Letter Decoration

Cartoon Zebra and butterfly

Zebra Butterfly

Baby Zebra and Giraffe outfits

Zebra Seahorse

There is all sorts of Zebra things around us all the time, if we just took the time to look we would see them.  Why is it that we are so attracted to this print?  Maybe because it is different and unique to each individual creature.  No two Zebra's have the same pattern just like no two humans have the same characteristics or DNA.

So this rounds out my final letter in the AtoZ Challenge.  Thank you all for coming around and seeing what my portion of this challenge was all about.  I hope that you keep coming around and keep reading.

It has been great getting new readers to comment and follow as well as commenting and following them.  Please leave any comments below and be sure to follow to see what is coming up next.

Youth Today!!! #AtoZChallenge

Almost finished with the AtoZ CHallenge for April.  Yes I know I am a little behind but I am finishing it dang it.

Today I am wanting to give my perspective on our Youth.  Yes, you know those people who are 18 and below that think they are entitled.  Yes, you know those people that are 24 and below who also think they are entitled.  Now before you go getting upset let me clarify.  I am talking about the ones walking around here thinking they own everything or that everything is owed to them.  They walk around with their pants sagging to their knees, more gold on then the pawn shop has and no manners to be found.  Yet they want us old people to just hand everything that we have ever earned over to them because they want it.

When did it become ok for our youth to behave this way?  Where did we as parent fail?  I remember my mom telling me that she would knock me into next week if I did something that I wasn't supposed to.  I remember getting grounded and not being able to do anything.  Our parents had the control and so did our school system.  Where did these times go?  Why do we parents and school authorities have to bow down to the youth and let them walk all over us?

I am sorry, I know alot of people do not believe in whooping their children because they don't think that fosters a good relationship.  Excuse me, but I can promise you a good ole ass whooping never hurt anyone.  Trust me when I say this, if you whoop their asses when they did something wrong then chances are they won't do that again.  Seriously it is common knowledge that we old people learned this lesson when we were younger.

I just don't understand how our world became so messed up.  We have children carrying guns, rolls of cash that adults who work 40hrs a week don't have, jewelry, the top of the line electronics and gadgets, named brand high dollar purses, clothing and shoes.  Yet they have no respect for anyone or anything.  I know that the momma that was beating her son on the news for being in the riot has been an internet sensation and has been deemed a hero.  I have to agree!!!!!  In case you missed it, here it is again.

I whooped my kids ass when they were growing up and they have not been in any trouble with the law that simple respect and manners wouldn't handle.  They have been taught that you respect Authority of any type, whether it is a teacher, judge, police, elderly person or anyone that is older than them.  They know how to say, Yes Ma'am/Sir, No Ma'am/sir, Please and Thank You.  These are things that were taught to my children.  I have taught them the value of a dollar and that they don't get anything for free.  If they want it then they have to earn either by getting a job or doing chores.

So what do you think?  Do you think she was in the right or the wrong?  Do you wonder what happened to our youth?  What piece of advice would you give to new mothers in today's times?

Please leave your comments below and your link to your website so I can stop in and say hi.

♥♥♥Something to Make You smile!!!!! ♥♥♥

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.  Today is usually when I join Joyce for her Wednesday Hodgepodge but she is taking a break this week.  So instead of the Hodgepodge I thought I would share with you something adorable.

This is a video that my daughter Victoria took of my grandson Christian singing along to the radio.  Now mind you he is only 9 months old but if something is on the radio that he doesn't like he will fuss.  If it is something he likes then he will sing along with it (make noises) or just sit in silence until it is over.  He has such the personality that it is hard to believe he is only 9 months old.

So she used a app on her phone called Snap Chat.  I have no clue what it is, how to use it or anything about it.  I tried to turn the video but it wouldn't let me so I apologize for the way it is playing but it was just way to cute not to share.

Hope you enjoy and have a great rest of the week.  It is almost over and then Friday will be here.  That is Derby Eve or Oaks Day here and it is going to be insane with the Kentucky Derby traffic.

Feel free to leave me a comment and your blog link so I can come over and see how your blog world is doing.

Xylophone isn't really a Xylophone it is a Pixiphone #atozchallenge

Good morning everyone.  Thank you for stopping by my blog this morning or afternoon.  We are almost done with the A-to-Z Challenge and that means we will all have to find another challenge to participate in.  Where will you be linking up at?  I have to search the net and see what I can find.

Ok so there are a couple of things.  One I am sure you all know of or have probably had at some point in your life.

The Xylophone

What is it with this little noise maker?  I think all of my children had one and I still have one of them in storage as a keep sake.  I get that they are bright colors and that it is something to bang on besides the pots and pans in the kitchen but come one.  Does every kid in America have to have one of these things?  OK,  so maybe it isn't as loud as the pots and pans but it is still a noise maker.  But let me give you a little lesson.  This actually isn't a Xylophone, it is a Pixiphone.

Did you know that?  I didn't.  I was googling how many have been sold when I found THIS.  Needless to say I didn't get to the answer of this question but what I found instead was much more interesting.  A Xylophone is made of wood and not metal.  The Pixiphone is made of metal.  So I guess that toy we all had as children or buy for our children and grandchildren is named incorrectly.  It should be a Pixiphone and not labeled as Xylophone.

Here is an amazing performance of a Led Zeppelin song from our Local Louisville Leopard Percussionist.  They are only in like the 5th grade.

Seriously how amazing are they?  I am sorry but I was never one for instruments to begin with although when I was younger I always wanted to learn how to play the drums.  Of course that didn't happen but I still love the drums.

What is your thoughts on finding out that the Xylophone isn't a Xylophone but a Pixiphone instead?  I thought it was very interesting and shows how the media and toy companies can trick us very easy if we don't do our own research.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to come back as we finish up with the A-to-Z Challenge.

Do't forget to leave your comments below and I will get back to them within a day.  I am always looking to find fellow bloggers and help support one another.

Wills is on my mind with this #AtoZchallenge

Wills - what we all should have but many do not.  Something that we think we have time for but we don't.  Something that we think we don't need but do.  If you don't believe me, let me tell you why.

This is something that I have taught my children for years.  They never go to bed without me telling them that I Love them.  They never hang up the phone without hearing I Love You because you may never hear their voice again.

Do you think this sounds a big dramatic?  If so then you need to click Here!! This story will explain it all to well and in detail of how not telling someone you Love them could change you.  It also gives point to my topic and the fact that we all need to have a Will.  Even I am guilty of not having one even today.  That however, is going to change.  The research is on for this one because we aren't promised tomorrow.

Here is an example of how things go after we die in regards to who gets what:

I know this is a strange subject to talk about but honestly after going through what I went through in the article above, it is worth the discussion.  There are so many things that we don't think of when we are living.  Who is going to be in charge of our stuff when we die?  Who is going to make the arrangements? What about your kids?  The other family members that your kids are close to won't be able to see anyone other then the legal parent if you die because the other parent doesn't have to let you see them.

I fought in court to see my grandchildren after my daughter died and it did me absolutely no good.  I was crushed, I lost my daughter and now I have lost my grandchildren all because my daughter didn't have a Will.  A simple piece of paper could have changed everything and we didn't have it.  Why didn't we have it?  Well to be honestly, my daughter was only 19, we didn't think she needed one.  We didn't know she was going to be killed in an accident and we surely didn't think the Dad's would show up and take the kids because they didn't see them very often and my daughter had to practically beg for the one dad to take one of my grandchildren.

Did you know that every state is different when it comes to Grandparent's Rights?  I had no clue.  I just assumed that since she lived with me the majority of my grandchildren's lives that I would get them after she passed.  Boy did I ever get a rude awakening.  I haven't seen them in almost 7 years and not a day goes by that I don't think about them and miss them.

I am fortunate enough to be the executrix for the monies that was received after her death due to Auto Insurance.  However, that does little for me having my daughter here with me and her children.  It does her children no good with not having their mommy and the daddies bouncing from one female to another.  The one constant in every child's life should be their mother.  My grandchildren were robbed of this all because of some idiot and illegals in the country.

Rather you are close to your parent's or family, I beg you to write a Will and make sure that your stuff goes to where you want it, your money is where it should be and most importantly, your child/children are with who you want them to be with.  Otherwise, everything goes to the biological parent that survived.  Here is a list of the states with Grandparent's writes and what they all mean.  I am in no way giving legal advise but I am speaking from personal experience.  This isn't something you should wait for because we aren't promised another second on this earth.

Thank you for stopping by.  I would love if you left a comment on how you have dealt with a Will.  Do you have one?  Are you planning on making one?  Have you even thought about it until now?

Vicotry, Vitamins and Victoria all in a day #atozchallenge

Playing catch up once again on the AtoZ Challenge.  I am almost there and will be here in a little bit.  I have to work late at work covering the front desk and phones.  It is always extremely slow after 5:30 so I know I can get today's done as well.

Victory is what I am talking about today.  It isn't your normal victory as you would think but more of a personal victory.

My garage has been a catch all since I moved in the house 4 years ago.  Yesterday it was absolutely beautiful here and I wanted to get up and get moving instead of sitting still like I normally do.  I finally got the majority of it cleaned out and organized.  So that was my Victory for the day.

Vitamins are something that I tend to neglect when it comes to my health.  I am always telling my kids, family, friends and hubby how to take care of their bodies but I always seem to neglect my needs.  So yesterday I did get to read some blogs and came across this one  and Lenetta talked about Vitamins and the workout she was doing.  I know her personally and know that if she doesn't truly like something then she wouldn't endorse it.  So I figured what the heck.  I looked into it and decided to try it out.  Seriously it is a vitamin, what can it hurt?  Here is a picture of it and a brief overview:

Alive!® Max Potency contains  a diversity of daily essentials, whole food concentrates, phytonutrients and antioxidants to nourish, protect and invigorate your body.* This Whole Food Energizer™ multivitamin is made with daily essentials, botanical energizers and system defenders including:*
  • 25 vitamins and minerals
  • 18 amino acids
  • 12 digestive enzymes
  • 14 green foods
  • 12 organically grown mushrooms
  • 40+ antioxidants
As with all Alive!® multivitamins it's also packed with high potency B-vitamins to help convert food into energy*, Orchard Fruits™ and Garden Veggies™1, and nutrients for whole body nourishment to help support bone health, daily energy, colon health, eye health, heart health, and immune defense. *
1Alive! ® Max Potency provides 200 mg fruit/vegetable powder, extract and dried juice per serving.
Take 3 tablets daily, preferably with food. As with any supplement, if you are pregnant, nursing or taking medication, consult your doctor before use. Not formulated for children. Do not exceed recommended use.
They even come in gummies which I should have bought instead I bought the regular pills and those things are huge.  It says to take 3 a day so I am taking them one with each meal.  If you hope over to the link by clicking on the picture they even have a $3.00 off coupon.

Victoria, my beautiful amazing complicated stubborn daughter who is stong willed and determined to do on her own.  She knew her brother was out of work and recommended him for a position at the company she works for but at a different mall location which is oddly less then a mile or two from the mall she works at.  So my son went and did the interview on Wednesday and they called him back on Friday for the second interview and he got hired.  Today is his first day which I am sure he won't have a problem.

It is hard to believe that my daughter is all grown up with her own baby now.  They are such a joy in my life and sometimes they cause chaos but that is ok as well.  They are my children and I would lay down my life for them.

So tell me, have you had any Victories lately?  What were they?  Do you take Vitamins like you should or are you like me and advise but never do?  It is hard going from parent mode to actually doing what you preach mode sometimes.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment and let me know you were here.  I could love to hop over to your blog as well and see what you are up to.

Understanding is in the works #atozchallenge

Welcome back to another edition of the AtoZ Challenge.  The letter for today is the letter "U" so I am going to go with Understanding for my topic.  Warning this is going to get personal.

So I was reading a blog the other day and I apologize but I can't remember whose blog it was but it was only a one pager story.  Long story but it was well worth the read.  I swear this lady was talking about me.  The things she went through, her feelings, the discovering herself and all the rest.  She mentioned a couple of books by an author that I had never heard of before and the research started.

I have been a mother since I was 16 and it changed my life as I knew it.  All of my dreams, hopes, adventures and everything else went out the window.  All the things that teens get to do in High School was no longer an option for me.  Now before you go off wondering in your thoughts, I had no regrets!!!!!  Before graduation I had another child and when I graduated I was pregnant with my 3rd.  Yes I was like a Pez Dispenser as my brother called me.  He said that if a guy even looked at me I turned up pregnant from just their glance without them even touching me.

I didn't get to go to all the things that you do in high school such as Friday Night Football games, field trips, ring dances or prom.  I did get to go to Prom but I didn't stay but about 15 minutes because I knew that someone else had my children and it was my responsibility to take care of them and not someone else.  I was in a very abusive relationship with my first daughter that ended before her birth.  My second daughter's father I married but that quickly turned abusive and I got out of that as well.  The third one was my middle school sweetheart and we ended up getting married many years later.

Since I can remember I have been a parent and I wouldn't trade it for anything int he world.  However, I would change alot of things in my past if I could.

My oldest daughter was killed in a motorcycle accident almost 7 years ago this October and my life has never been the same.  I can't seem to understand why MY Daughter died that night and not no one else got hurt.  She was hit by a car full of illegals and an idiot that shouldn't have had a license to begin with.  They are both living and walking around and doing whatever they want.  I can't understand why.  I can't seem to let go of the anger, hatred, depression, feeling loss.  I have talked to people, I have read books, I have expressed my feelings in my blog post and still it eludes me on why others are still here and she isn't.

Don't get me wrong, I know that GOD is in control of everything and I pray to him all the time to help me understand, to forgive, to let it go and every night I pray I tell him that I am turning it over to him.  When morning comes, it is mine again.  I can turn it over all I want but without understanding, forgiveness and changing the way my mind thinks, then it will never truly be turned over to GOD.

I have felt lost for so long and I have not allowed myself to be truly happy even though I have moved on, remarried, started another job and am able to talk about my daughter now without crying as much.  There isn't a day that doesn't go bye that I don't think about her.  Her photos are all over my house, we talk about her as if she has never left and every day I want to pick up the phone and call her.  Then I remember I can't!!!!!!!

So back to the article that I read the other day and the author that I had never heard of.  She talked about how she always felt she had to be the best, which I try to be but fail miserably.  She talked about how it helped her understand things that she had no control over.  She talked about how this author has helped her understand and put things into perspective.  So I thought what the hell, I will give her a try.

You see, for the majority of my life I have been known as Heather's, Victoria's, Brandon's mom or as NiNi, Kevin's sister, Scott's Sister or Little Cathy.  I have never been known as just Trina.  Of course, now that I think about it, how could I?  I have no friends only co-workers, I have no outside activities other then AVON, I don't go places by myself, I am not into fashion, I don't go out drinking or anything else.  So who is Trina?  I don't know!!!!!

In hopes of understanding myself and what my life really is I have purchased these books.  The author is Brene' Brown, Ph.D., L.M.S.W.  She is a writer and researcher at the University of Houston.  Her books are very promising from the titles and hopefully won't disappoint.  Click this link here to read all about her and discover what she is about.  I need to Understand why I am not happy, not content with things, not letting go and knowing who I am.

Understanding is what I am hoping to gain from reading the books above.  I want to understand why I have the feelings that I have about not knowing who I am.  I want to understand how I can give forgiveness for those that have done wrong to me.  I want to understand why I can't seem to keep my thoughts together, why I can't get motivated to do things that I know need to be done.  I want to understand why it is so hard for me to accomplish all the things I want to accomplish.  I want to understand how I can get focused.

What are things you need help in understanding?  Do you ever feel lost and don't know why?  Have you read any self help books that helped you get in control of your life?  I would love to hear what your thoughts are and how you managed to understand something that was hard for you to understand at first.

Smiling Wednesday #atozchallenge

Hello everyone and welcome back.  Yes today I am caught up on my AtoZ Challenge.  It has been hard to write about something everyday that begins with these letters.  It is fun though to see what everyone else comes up with.  So today I am using the title Smiling Wednesday because I came across some coffee pictures that made me smile.  So I hope you enjoy them.  They came from Photobucket and are totally free to download.

 photo CoffeeArt-Butterfly.jpg
I believe this is suppose to be a Butterfly which reminds me of my late daughter.  They always make me smile because when I see them I can see her clearly in my mind.

 photo CoffeeArt-4Musketeers.jpg
Then of course you have these.  I don't know who made them or how but it is so neat to see what people can do with a cup of coffee and a little imagination.  I could only hope to be that talented.

coffee art photo: Monkey* Monkey.jpg
Of Course I had to include this one because my Grandson is a little monkey butt.  His whole theme in his room is monkeys.  So this one certainly put a smile as well on my face today.

Since today is National Administrative Professionals Day we aren't being over worked which is a great thing.  It is also National Earth Day, Avon has a wonderful treat for you but it ends Friday Night.  Be sure to click the link and it will take you right to my page.  We have so many AMAZING deals that it is hard to stop shopping.  When you get to check out use the code: Welcome to save 20% on a $50 or more order and as always FREE Shipping on orders $40 and above.

Something about the Hodgepodge

Hello and welcome back to another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge.  The wonderful Joyce at FromThis Side of the Pond always puts together great things for us to talk about.  So if you have never joined in before then I suggest you click on either the link above or the picture and join in.  We are all here to help, support and learn from one another.

1. Have you ever had to wear a uniform? If yes, tell us more. Did you love it or hate it?
----- I have had to wear several uniforms from working in Fast Food and I am glad to say I don’t have to worry about that any longer.  I hated those uniforms.

---- The Restoration Company I used to work for decided that everyone needed to wear a uniform but luckily it was just Khaki/Black Pants and a shirt with the company logo on it.  When they told us we were going to have to start wearing this attire we were not pleased.  Then the manager came in and gave us all an allowance and told us to go shopping.  The thing about this one is at least I got to wear clothes that were comfortable and as I got older appreciated not having to worry about what fit and what didn’t.

2. April 22nd is Earth Day. What is one thing you do personally to be a good steward of planet Earth?
----- I am going to go with Car Pooling.  After work I have to go about 45 minutes away and instead of meeting the person there they are going to come pick me up and we are going to ride together and then back to work to pick up my car.

3. Brown rice, quinoa, or couscous...your healthy grain of choice? How often are one of the three on your menu at home?  Given a choice between white rice, brown rice, wild rice, and fried rice which would you go for?
---- I am going to go with Brown rice even though we prefer white rice at my house.  I probably eat Brown Rice once a month.  Not very often on either really.  I do have some Quinoa at home but not sure what or how to make it.

4. In your opinion, who has the best job ever?
----- Disney Employees!!!!!!  I mean seriously you can dress up like a character, they have dance parties in the center of the square and get to meet people of all walks of life.
----- Oh also Dolphin trainers.  I have always wanted to go swimming with them but I am extremely terrified of getting out in the water.

5. What's a situation in your life currently requiring patience?
-----  What isn’t requiring patience in my life is a better question.  The newest thing is recruiting and training my team mates.  They all want to be better, more advanced, earn more, move up and get their own teams but they won’t respond to emails, won’t take the online classes that they need to take, and last but not least, won’t go out in the field with me to get the training or recruits that they need.

6.  Do you live your life around days of the week? Explain.
-----  NO!!!!  I Live my life by the seat of my pants or should I say around my kids, husband and AVON.   Yes I work fulltime but my employer is really understanding about all of them.  I am currently trying to win a Trip to Orlando for AVON and I need to recruit 6 people who place and pay for on time a $100 order.  I am meeting 1 today and 2 more this weekend.    Then I have another incentive that is going on so that means I will also be recruiting and putting them under my teammates so I can achieve the incentive.
7. In a nod to the A to Z challenge happening around town this month, what 'R word' best describes your April?
-----Refreshing, Relaxing to a point and certainly revolving.  It is refreshing because of spring cleaning, relaxing because I have less clutter in my home and revolving because I am constantly learning, recruiting and moving.

coffee art photo: Monkey* Monkey.jpg
Here is a cup of coffee to make you smile while relaxing

8. Insert your own random thought here.
----- The AtoZ Challenge has been just that some days and other days it has been pretty easy.  I have enjoyed it and love getting comments from other bloggers.  I even received a comment from a blogger correcting my writing on the word “rather” or “whether”.  She was sweet about it and I am glad that she said something because the last thing I am sure we all want is to look dumb on here.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and please be sure to leave a comment to let me know you were here and I am not alone in the Blog world along with your blog link.  I love finding new people to follow.

****Disclaimer this looks normal on my screen.  Sorry if it is messed up on yours.*****

Reality and Remembering #atozchallenge

Hello and welcome back to my A-to-Z Challenge for today.  Yes I am was actually caught up.  Yester the letter was "R" obviously but there is so many things you can talk about when it comes to this letter.  Today I am choosing two things that is in my face all the time.

Reality - Oh where to begin with this  I will make this one a light subject.

Yesterday I went to get my haircut at #FantasticSams which I go to all the time for my hair cut.  I told the lady what I wanted and she said no problem.  What was that you wonder?  Hmmm, ok, I told her that I wanted to have feathered hair in layers to do blow backs like Farrah Fawcett.   However, what I wanted is not what I got.
This is what I envisioned

So instead today I went to #Greatclips and had the lady there do my hair.  Even though it wasn't like the above picture like I wanted it to be it was still a great cut for me.
This is the style but not color I got
So my reality obviously isn't that my hair is going to look exactly like either of these but her Reality was way off.  My hair was only cut on one side, it looked no different really then it did when I walked in.  I smiled, paid her and left.  She won't be cutting my hair ever again.

Remembering - I remember a time when all I had to do was get up, wash my hair and put a blow dryer to it and it would lay just like Farrah's did.  Sadly it obviously doesn't do that any longer.  Oh the days that were good, where did you go?

I remember being alot of great things from when I was younger and some things that weren't so great that I wished I didn't remember as well.  You know the funny things about remembering is that you can turn it on and turn it off when you want.  If you are sad, angry, annoyed, or just plan moody you can remember something happy and then you will become happy.  If you are happy, you can remember something sad and become sad.

Remembering is a funny thing from time to time.  The best part about remembering is that you never really lose those that you have physically lost them in life.  No matter where we are at or what we are doing, remembering can make all the difference in how your day is and what your day is going to be like.

The bad thing about remember, when you can't remember what you walked into a room for, where your keys are at, or my favorite, where are my glasses when they are clearly on my head.  Yes, I loose all of these things and then some.  My husband laughs and tells me that all things are in my purse unless I can't remember where I put my purse.

So what about you, have you had any differences in reality compared to someone else?  When remembering do you have a hard time with the everyday things but not the long term memories?

Better yet, what is the most embarrassing memory you remember and can share?  Share with me and we can all brighten each others day.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave your name and a link to your blog so I can follow along.  Also please click the follow button on the side or follow me on Google + to keep up with what is new and going on.

Quiet/Quit/Quite Confusion #atozchallenge

Yes I am finally caught up on this challenge.  Hopefully I will be able to get tomorrows done and scheduled for release on time.  Wooohoooooo!!!!!!

Do you ever get the words "Quite/Quit/Quite" confused?  I have to be honest and say YES I DO.  I know it is terrible to say but it is the truth.  I literally avoid using these words in anything that I write because I can never remember which word is spelled which way.  (hanging my head in shame) But wait, there is spell check, oh wait, it won't catch it because it only checks spelling not meaning.  Dang nabit.  Oh well, it was a thought.

Seriously though I hate to admit that this is one of the words that literally throws me off when I am writing.  I know I can do what I did for this topic and type all 3 in the bar at the top and hit enter and it will pull it up but seriously I don't usually do that.

So I am going to share what I found and I am sure alot of you out there already know this but for those of you that are like me and dread using this word here you go:

Quiet means "silence." Quit means "to leave." Quite means "very" or "actually."

I used to know how to spell them and the different ways to use them but every since my car accident and head injury 20 years ago I can't seem to remember.  I lost alot of memory due to that accident and still have issues with my memory to this day.  I tell my kids and husband things over and over and they have finally stopped telling me that I already told them and just nod at me and go on.

Now you can see why I get so confused.  They are literally different meanings but are only 1 letter different.  OK, so the arrangement of the letters are also different but still all the same letters basically.  Now when I am talking I don't have a problem using them correctly, but writing them is another story.

What about you?  Do you ever have problems with these words?  Do you avoid using them in fear of looking silly?  What other words do you have problems with?  There is one word that I say that is said the same in my mind but I know is spelled different and know how to and when to spell it correctly.  But the pronunciation of it is hard for me and that is the word "picture and pitcher".

Now to just work on the correct sentence structure and proper placing of comma's, periods, run on's and so forth.  Re-learning how to write correctly.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment and then hop on over to the A-to-Z Challenge above and check out some of the other blogs.

Perspective is all in the eyes #atozchallenge

Hello, I am almost caught up.  Sorry I know I am behind and you are suppose to either blog everyday or write a blog and schedule it to go live on the right day.  These are 2 things I am working on but I am still a work in progress.

There are so many things I can say about this word and we all know that different things call for different perspectives but here is the definition:

  1. 1.
the art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point.
    "a perspective drawing"
  2. 2.
a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
"most guidebook history is written from the editor's perspective"

Ok I am going to say it.  The first explanation of this word I didn't even think of so that is a new way to look at it....bun

Here is a lesson in perspective that my son taught me today and I am glad that he looked at it this way.  If not then it could have been damaging to him which in turn would have been damaging to me because we all want to protect our children from any hurt or pain.

My son has been working a job with a company selling office supplies and equipment for the past couple of weeks and it started the first week as regular pay and then to straight commissions.  My son is only 20 yrs old and has never had any type of sales/commission based job.  Yes he has worked at fast food and did detailing for a huge car dealership but nothing that was straight commissions.

Now my son like most kids his age are into gaming, youtube, guitars and all things boys except sports and hardly ever leaves his room.  Ok he leaves it for the bathroom, shower and food but short of actual work he never leaves it.

Now his boss and the other people that work there are a little older but have been with this company for several years.  They believe in team building and bonding time which I think is great.  They have a relationship outside of work and can all hang out without getting into trouble.  My son was the youngest so some things he couldn't go out and do with them but that is ok because he was still making friends with them.

He has been out of town about 2 hrs from home trying to get people to use the service his company offers instead of what they currently use for their office supplies.  Now for a 20 yr old that has no sales experience this can be hard.  He has sold 7 accounts all $100 or below except 1 and his commissions on it won't be more then $200 for a 2 week ordeal.  Not to mention he has to pay for his own fuel and that is putting a ton of miles on his car which is an older car as it is.  We talked over the weekend and I told him that he may want to look for another job because he has bills to pay and this one isn't cutting it so to speak.

He called me this morning on my way to work and told me that he and the boss came to an understanding that this job wasn't for him and that it was best if he found something else.  I asked how he felt about it this was his reaction:

"It was all good because they were still going to hang out during the week as friends and he got experience that he didn't have.  The bonus was that he was going to get a good recommendation from his boss because he is a fast learner but still needs to get more confidence in approaching people he don't know to sell them something."

Most people in his position wouldn't have this type of attitude about it but I can smile and say that I have taught my children right.  Everything is a learning experience and the only difference is how you respond and what you do with it.  He is going to hit up temporary agencies to get another job.  He doesn't like to be unemployed.

When was the last time you let something negative give you a positive perspective on things?  I always try to look for a positive in every situation regardless of how dark it may seem.

O is for Opportunity #atozchallenge

Hello again.  Getting caught up with the challenge and if you would like to read some of the other blogs participating then you can click here.  Some of these letters I have to admit made me think really hard and has had me extremely stumped on alot of them.  But not this one!!!  This one was an easy choice for me to write about.

OPPORTUNITY is what I am sharing with you today.  I wanted to tell you about a company that is near and dear to my heart AVON.  It is the company for Women and a Few Good Men.  Yes you read that right Men.  Some of our top sellers are men and if you think about it then you would know why.

What woman doesn't like to be complimented by a man?  None that I can think of.  We all love to hear how pretty we are, how beautiful we look, how the clothes we are wearing make us stand out from the crowd and last but not least how good we smell.  I know I like to hear all of those compliments.  So if you think about it, Men really go make some great AVON Representatives.

But more importantly do you or someone you know need extra $$$$?  We could all use extra money in our lives.  You might need an additional income to help put your child in daycare, soccer, basketball, t-ball, cheerleading or ballerina school and still have money to pay bills and eat.  How about the money to cover medicines that your insurance doesn't cover?  Yes Ladies and Gentlemen AVON can be your answer.

I seen this on Facebook today and thought how appropriate is this?

AVON has a 100% money back guarantee and the best part don't have to drive to the store after buying it and stand in line to return it for something else that may or may not work for you.  Your AVON representative can take care of it for you.

More importantly than being convenient, it is AFFORDABLE!!!!!  We have make-up, skin care, clothing, jewelry, mens items, children's items, personal hygiene items, gifts and household items.  We have everything that the big stores have but at your fingertips.

Here is an extremely powerful video that I want you to watch and share with everyone you know,  There are so many more inspiring stories out there from my AVON company that you wouldn't imagine.  I shared one earlier on this post which is also extremely inspirational.

The cost to get started is only $15 and you get everything you need to start your business delivered right to your door by AVON.  So if you are ready to take the next step in your life then I invite you to join me and the other 1.6 Million Representatives world wide in making your Dreams Come True.  Click Here to get started on your path to financial freedom.  It isn't a get rich type of business or a pyramid scheme but it is a chance for you to get a second income, become financial free and stop worrying about where your next dollar or meal is going to come from.

With AVON I have been able to buy a New Car and make the payments.  Yes without AVON it would not have been possible.  (not a great picture of me)
