Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge. I know that I haven’t be consistent in posting them but I am trying. It is hard trying to figure out work, AVON, babysitting grandson, transporting adult kids and weight loss. But I want to Thank You for stopping by my blog and I would love it if you would subscribe/follow and comment. I am always looking to make and meet new friends.
Today I am joining up with Joyce again at From This Side of the Pond. If you haven’t been to her blog then check it out and join in on the fun. She always has wonder questions and makes you really stop and think about the answer.
1. Share a favorite song, book, or movie title containing the word green?
---Hmmmm, this is a hard one for me. I am not sure I honestly have one but there is a song that is sung by Ed Sheeran called “Thinking Out Loud” and it talks about how his girls soul will never grown old because it is evergreen. It seems to be a very popular song right now and I sing along every time I hear it.
2. Ralph Waldo Emerson is quoted as saying, 'Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.' Would you agree? Are you a believer in luck?
---I do believe in Luck. I mean seriously how else do you explain people that do bad things getting away with it in the human world? I know that all will be judged in front of God when their time is up but it would sure be nice for people here on earth see justice first hand in their life.
--- My husband is a strong believer in cause and effect. He says there is no such thing as luck. I disagree with him but I also believe in cause and effect as well.
3. Spring water, Hot Springs, handspring, spring fling, spring break, spring fever, offspring...which 'spring' word best applies to something in your day, week, or life right now?
---OFFSPRING!!!!! Both of my kid’s cars decided they were going to stop working this past Friday and yesterday. My daughters transmission went out in her car and my son’s starter (hope it’s the starter) went out in his yesterday. They both work day shift as do I so this morning was an early morning. I had to get up at 5:30 to get ready, make sure the kids were up and the grandbaby as well. Luckily my husband took the grandbaby to daycare for me and I was able to focus on getting the big kids to work on time. For a change I was actually at work on time as well…lol. Gee imagine that.
4. What's something you do to make yourself look or feel more confident?
--- Loose weight!!!!! I have lost 20lbs officially since October. I am not on a diet per say. In October I changed from a big size dinner plate to a salad plate. If it didn’t fit on the plate in a single layer it didn’t get on the plate and therefore not in my tummy tummy. In January I started watching my fat count. It has been hard but worth it.
5. It's National Celery Month...are you a fan? If so, what's a snack or dish you enjoy that calls for celery?
--- I love celery. I put it in my tuna fish, salads and even in my chicken soup. I can eat it by itself or with peanut butter. Either way is good.
6. What's one thing you wish you'd learned sooner?
--- Not to trust certain people. I have lost a lot of stuff because I put trust in people and took them at their word. This has cost me both financially and mentally.
7. Would you like to own a second home? If so where would you want that home to be?
--- Heck I would be happy to own the first one!!!! I had once once but lost it due to a divorce. See answer 6 above..lol. I actually loved that house but the neighborhood has gotten really bad so in away it was a blessing that I lost the house due to foreclosure. But it had a lot of great memories and I do miss it sometimes.
But if I could own a second home, I would be torn between Colorado Springs, North Carolina, Maine and Florida. There is something about each state that I love but I guess since I love the 4 seasons and the mountains, I will pick Colorado Springs. It is high to live there but the view is beautiful!!!! Well worth it!!!!
These are just a few pictures of the mountain view scenery. Oh how I miss it there. There is so much to see and do but in the winter it is absolutely gorgeous with the snow covered mountain tops.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
--- It has been a tough week with all the mechanical issues with the cars this week. I so wish that my kids were little again and not have to run them back and forth to work, bring them lunch and so forth.
I am thankful for my grandson but man time is flying by. He will be 8 months old tomorrow. He is growing up so fast on us and is such a love.
I was fully reminded of how my mamma felt for years when she was helping me get the kids to and from school and the doctors’ offices while I worked. Man what a lot of work and running she did for me. Thank you mom and I hope you know how much I cherished you helping me and I cherish your memories. I miss you and love you!!!!
Why do men want to get a girl/woman pregnant, talk about how he is going to do this and do that for them and the baby and then when the baby gets here it is all talk???? I never understood that. If you are going to choose to do an adult act and engage in relations then you need to be sure you are ready for the consequences regardless of the lifestyle you want or have. You need to step up to the plate and support the child/children without being asked. Now don’t get it wrong, this isn’t just for men when it comes to supporting the child/children. I am a firm believer that if you are producing children then you need to support them regardless of your feelings towards the other parent!!!!!
Ok Rant over.
I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know you were here. Again, I love meeting new people and we all want to grow in knowledge and friendship.
I hope you have a great and wonderful rest of the week and I look forward to reading your blog as well.
