♥♥♥ Hopeful Wednesday Hodgepodge and Easter Love ♥♥♥

Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge brought to you by Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond.  She always has such great questions and makes you really look back and reflect on a lot of stuff.  She does this every Wednesday and invites everyone to join in.  So be sure to leave a comment before after reading and then hope on over and join in.  We all love meeting and reading about new bloggers thoughts, ideas and experiences in all areas of life.

1. This coming weekend is Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week. Do you celebrate Easter in your home? What was your favorite Easter tradition as a child?

---- We don’t celebrate Easter like we did when the kids were little.  However, I am sure that is all going to change now that I have the grandbaby at home.  But it is his first year and he doesn’t know anything about any of it yet so I have another free Non-Commercial Easter.  Next year will be another story.
I would love waking up and finding the basket filled with lots of jelly beans and rummaging through the basket because my mom would always put a silver dollar or half dollar along with a $2 dollar bill.  Even to this day when I see one I always buy it.  I don’t know what the fascination is with them but I do.

2. George Weinberg is quoted as saying, 'Hope never abandons you, you abandon it.' Agree or disagree? Share your own thoughts on the word hope.

--- I agree.  No matter what the situation there is always hope of some kind.  Hope that you are going to make it through your day, hope that there won’t be any bad traffic on the way to work, hope that you will get to see that someone you haven’t seen in awhile.  However, I think a lot of it has to do with your attitude and your involvement but I believe there is always hope.

3. Weigh in with a yay or nay on the traditional Easter candies. A solid milk chocolate bunny? Cadbury Creme Eggs? Peeps? Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs? Jellybeans? Coconut Cream Eggs? Of the candies listed, which one would you most like to find in your Easter basket?

---- My mom would have put them all in there which I never understood because out of all of them the only one I like is the Jelly Beans.  She would buy these Jelly Beans that came with instructions on how to mix them together to get certain flavors and I don’t know where she got them but man did I love them.

4. When did you last feel 'like a kid in a candy store'?

---- Oh this one is easy for me.  My husband bought me a gift certificate to take some photography classes at a local camera store.  I found out during registration that my receipt from 7 years ago allowed me to take the classes for FREE!!!!!  OMG I was so super excited.  So that meant I had a $300 gift certificate that I could use on anything I wanted in the store.  So I bought some basics but my favorite purchase that wasn’t so basic was this WestcottGreen Screen Photo Illusion Lite BundleNow I haven’t really played with it yet but I am so excited to.  I am going to be propping my grandbaby up in all kinds of ways and taking photos.

I am currently debating on what Point –in- shoot camera I want to get.  I would really like to get a Nikon even though I am a Canon girl but I don’t like the designs of them.  Then of course there is Sony that I used to use and loved but can’t find and then there is the Fuji which was my very first DSR Camera and loved but not sure.  I will keep you all posted when I figure it out.

5. What's something you know you do differently than most people? Does that bother you? Does it bother other people?

--- Hmmm, almost everything…lol.  I would have to say voice my opinion.  I give it to people rather they like it or not usually.  I see things from a different viewpoint then most and I always challenge them when they come back at me with an answer that I don’t think they are realizing the ramifications of.   Needless to say I have been called a B*%*%*^( on more than one occasion.  I know that my way isn’t always the way BUT don’t ask me if you aren’t going to at least give it some consideration.

6. Palm Springs CA, Palm Beach FL, or the PALMetto State...of the three mentioned, which sunny spot would you most like to visit right now? Which have you visited at one time or another?

--- Palm Springs CA for sure!!!!  I love the Ocean and besides I have been to Palm Beach FL and honestly don’t find it all that amazing.  Don’t get me wrong there is a lot to see and do and besides it is the Ocean for crying out loud but I want to go to CA more.  Their beaches there have so much to do and see you can’t possibly get bored.

7. If you could change the length of a day would you lengthen it or shorten it? Tell us why.

---I would make Saturday a 48 hr day.  I love Saturdays and honestly I don’t feel like there is enough of a break between Friday at 5 and Monday at 8.  I am always exhausted come both of those times.  For whatever reason I can’t seem to get up for work on time to save my life but come Saturday Morning, I am up usually at 7 a.m. and doing laundry by 7:05 before my first cup of coffee and then the rest of the day starts.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

---- These past weeks have been a real pain in my ass when it comes to vehicles.  First on Friday my daughter’s car breaks down and we are thinking it was the transmission.  Then on Monday my son calls and tells me his car is broken down.  Now mind you they are both in their 20’s and work minimum wage jobs and don’t have a clue about saving money even though I stress it to them all the time.  They don’t listen...imagine that!!!

So mom to the rescue, I called Triple A which pissed me off to get my daughter’s car towed.  They told me that I was only covered for the first 3 miles and then $3 a mile afterwards.  There was over 14 miles we were going.  Now I know it isn’t a lot to pay for a tow truck but I was under the impression all these years that I had Triple A that I had towing up to 100 miles.

However, when my son’s car broke down he was less then 8 miles from the house.  So Triple A came and towed it and the driver only charged me $10.  However, I gave him a $10 tip because he got to the car before I could and had to wait and not to mention the part of town we were in I didn’t even want to be in during the day.  Just a bad area.

But now both cars are fixed.  My daughters car just turned out to be a clogged vent to the Transmission so simple fix there and not the entire transmission like we thought.   Best part is the car lot she got it from didn’t even charge her to fix it…..woooohooooo.  Then my sons car we took to Goodyear and they replaced the Starter which we tried to do on our own but couldn’t.  Then they called and said that the tie rod ends were shot and needed to be replaced.  So the $298 fix turned into $500 fix. But the important thing is that they are both going to be safe.  Now my son will pay me back for the $298 portion but the rest was my decision because I wanted him to be safe.

So that is my edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge.  I hope you enjoyed and laughed along with me as I have because after all the only alternative is to cry.  I don’t like to cry so I choose to laugh at the issues and go on.  I don’t like to let things get to me.

I would really love if you left a comment and followed along.  Stay tuned for I will be doing a post in the next day or so of various travels.
