Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday. The weekend is almost here and I am so excited even though the weather people are calling for extremely cold and possible snow. Then again, I do love the snow. Yes I know I am weird.
***First I want to note that these are my personal feelings about myself and I am not here to shame, judge or make anyone feel bad. We are all different and we all think differently about ourselves. This is my opinion of me and how I have changed over the years.****
So today I want to talk to you about my weight loss journey so far. I was recently reminded of how heavy I was in a text message that I got from a mentor of mine. She had sent me a photo of me last June and when I opened it I didn't realize who it was at first. My first thought was oh I like that top and then it dawned on me. IT WAS ME!!!!! OMG I was horrified. I had not realized how big I had gotten. I am used to be smaller then what I am and was in the photo that I am going to be sharing with you today. I used to stay around 140-150 lbs which was a nice look but still bigger then I wanted to be.
This is my lovely mom, my handsome brother and I on 3/31/05. I was at a good weight here. I was about 145-155 but a healthy weight. I hate to use a wedding photo but it is one of the very few I have where I am actually the one being photographed. This is of my brothers in August 2009 after my mom and my daughter had passed. As you can see I was starting to gain some weight but it wasn't that much so I didn't pay much attention and kept doing what I was doing.
So in October I stepped on the scale and it read 235lbs. I started crying. I did not realize that I had gained that much weight. The last time I paid attention to the scale was at 195lbs. But I should have known I was gaining weight because I kept going up in pant and shirt sizes. I was tired and hurting all the time and just plain miserable. Whenever I had to dress up for anything I was terrified because I couldn't ever find anything that fit or look right on me. This was by far the heaviest I have ever been and I hated myself for letting me gain so much weight.
I went from 235 to 223 from October to the 22nd of January. That is 12lbs by just making that one little change. Yes I still ate McDonald's, Wendy's and Arby's when I wanted to and thought nothing about it. I started my YMCA Program on January 22nd and since then I have lost 10lbs by doing their program. I could lose more if I actually exercised but I don't so I get what I get ya know.
Below is a good list to have when you are trying to loose weight. Now mind you not everything is for everyone but it might just work for you. I don't eat alot of seafood and I certainly don't drink Skim Milk but that is just a suggestion after all.
I have found that now when I eat a hamburger from a fast food place or anything that is deep fried in grease that is now gives me fits. My stomach hurts beyond belief and I curse myself for it after I am done eating but sometimes you just have to have that hamburger or whatever it is that you are craving.
This isn't a diet it is a lifestyle change and I will be having more lifestyle changes come soon as well. I have an appointment with my Doctor on Wednesday and I plan on talking to him about stop smoking. So hopefully by the end of the year I will have reached my weight loss goal and stopped smoking all at the same time.
Wish me luck and let me know what it is your doing that has worked for you. Maybe we can all learn something new from each other that might help the other.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge brought to you by Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond. She always has such great questions and makes you really look back and reflect on a lot of stuff. She does this every Wednesday and invites everyone to join in. So be sure to leave a comment before after reading and then hope on over and join in. We all love meeting and reading about new bloggers thoughts, ideas and experiences in all areas of life.
1. This coming weekend is Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week. Do you celebrate Easter in your home? What was your favorite Easter tradition as a child?
---- We don’t celebrate Easter like we did when the kids were little. However, I am sure that is all going to change now that I have the grandbaby at home. But it is his first year and he doesn’t know anything about any of it yet so I have another free Non-Commercial Easter. Next year will be another story.
I would love waking up and finding the basket filled with lots of jelly beans and rummaging through the basket because my mom would always put a silver dollar or half dollar along with a $2 dollar bill. Even to this day when I see one I always buy it. I don’t know what the fascination is with them but I do.
2. George Weinberg is quoted as saying, 'Hope never abandons you, you abandon it.' Agree or disagree? Share your own thoughts on the word hope.
2. George Weinberg is quoted as saying, 'Hope never abandons you, you abandon it.' Agree or disagree? Share your own thoughts on the word hope.
--- I agree. No matter what the situation there is always hope of some kind. Hope that you are going to make it through your day, hope that there won’t be any bad traffic on the way to work, hope that you will get to see that someone you haven’t seen in awhile. However, I think a lot of it has to do with your attitude and your involvement but I believe there is always hope.
3. Weigh in with a yay or nay on the traditional Easter candies. A solid milk chocolate bunny? Cadbury Creme Eggs? Peeps? Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs? Jellybeans? Coconut Cream Eggs? Of the candies listed, which one would you most like to find in your Easter basket?
---- My mom would have put them all in there which I never understood because out of all of them the only one I like is the Jelly Beans. She would buy these Jelly Beans that came with instructions on how to mix them together to get certain flavors and I don’t know where she got them but man did I love them.
4. When did you last feel 'like a kid in a candy store'?
---- Oh this one is easy for me. My husband bought me a gift certificate to take some photography classes at a local camera store. I found out during registration that my receipt from 7 years ago allowed me to take the classes for FREE!!!!! OMG I was so super excited. So that meant I had a $300 gift certificate that I could use on anything I wanted in the store. So I bought some basics but my favorite purchase that wasn’t so basic was this WestcottGreen Screen Photo Illusion Lite Bundle. Now I haven’t really played with it yet but I am so excited to. I am going to be propping my grandbaby up in all kinds of ways and taking photos.
I am currently debating on what Point –in- shoot camera I want to get. I would really like to get a Nikon even though I am a Canon girl but I don’t like the designs of them. Then of course there is Sony that I used to use and loved but can’t find and then there is the Fuji which was my very first DSR Camera and loved but not sure. I will keep you all posted when I figure it out.
5. What's something you know you do differently than most people? Does that bother you? Does it bother other people?
--- Hmmm, almost everything…lol. I would have to say voice my opinion. I give it to people rather they like it or not usually. I see things from a different viewpoint then most and I always challenge them when they come back at me with an answer that I don’t think they are realizing the ramifications of. Needless to say I have been called a B*%*%*^( on more than one occasion. I know that my way isn’t always the way BUT don’t ask me if you aren’t going to at least give it some consideration.
6. Palm Springs CA, Palm Beach FL, or the PALMetto State...of the three mentioned, which sunny spot would you most like to visit right now? Which have you visited at one time or another?
--- Palm Springs CA for sure!!!! I love the Ocean and besides I have been to Palm Beach FL and honestly don’t find it all that amazing. Don’t get me wrong there is a lot to see and do and besides it is the Ocean for crying out loud but I want to go to CA more. Their beaches there have so much to do and see you can’t possibly get bored.
7. If you could change the length of a day would you lengthen it or shorten it? Tell us why.
---I would make Saturday a 48 hr day. I love Saturdays and honestly I don’t feel like there is enough of a break between Friday at 5 and Monday at 8. I am always exhausted come both of those times. For whatever reason I can’t seem to get up for work on time to save my life but come Saturday Morning, I am up usually at 7 a.m. and doing laundry by 7:05 before my first cup of coffee and then the rest of the day starts.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
---- These past weeks have been a real pain in my ass when it comes to vehicles. First on Friday my daughter’s car breaks down and we are thinking it was the transmission. Then on Monday my son calls and tells me his car is broken down. Now mind you they are both in their 20’s and work minimum wage jobs and don’t have a clue about saving money even though I stress it to them all the time. They don’t listen...imagine that!!!
So mom to the rescue, I called Triple A which pissed me off to get my daughter’s car towed. They told me that I was only covered for the first 3 miles and then $3 a mile afterwards. There was over 14 miles we were going. Now I know it isn’t a lot to pay for a tow truck but I was under the impression all these years that I had Triple A that I had towing up to 100 miles.
However, when my son’s car broke down he was less then 8 miles from the house. So Triple A came and towed it and the driver only charged me $10. However, I gave him a $10 tip because he got to the car before I could and had to wait and not to mention the part of town we were in I didn’t even want to be in during the day. Just a bad area.
But now both cars are fixed. My daughters car just turned out to be a clogged vent to the Transmission so simple fix there and not the entire transmission like we thought. Best part is the car lot she got it from didn’t even charge her to fix it…..woooohooooo. Then my sons car we took to Goodyear and they replaced the Starter which we tried to do on our own but couldn’t. Then they called and said that the tie rod ends were shot and needed to be replaced. So the $298 fix turned into $500 fix. But the important thing is that they are both going to be safe. Now my son will pay me back for the $298 portion but the rest was my decision because I wanted him to be safe.
So that is my edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge. I hope you enjoyed and laughed along with me as I have because after all the only alternative is to cry. I don’t like to cry so I choose to laugh at the issues and go on. I don’t like to let things get to me.
I would really love if you left a comment and followed along. Stay tuned for I will be doing a post in the next day or so of various travels.

Coast to Coast Map of Bloggers
Ok, I stumbled across this blog somehow, not sure how, but I did. So I have to share this with all of you. What an interesting way to get to actually meet people in the bloggy world!!!!!!
You have to check out her post here. I mean seriously how fun does this look? I am not a very out going type person since well I have been a parent but I used to be. I loved hanging out with friends and different people and learning new things. Anymore, I am just thankful for any alone time I might have to myself.
I would so love to be able to do this but is it just me or does it seem like none of these women look like they are out of their teens? I so miss those days where I didn't show my age. I know that the blogging world seems to be more for the younger age but you ladies watch out because us older ones are just as into it as you are. Of course some more then others, some more frequent then others and then there are those like me that have so many ideas with so much to write and not enough hours in the day to get it all done.
As a matter of fact I am actually at work writing this right now. So shhhhh don't tell the boss. Not that she would probably care because she knows that I can get the majority of my work done in less then an hour a day. No they don't have enough to keep me extremely busy but I have to look busy alot.
I would Love to get something like this going in my area but I have to admit I wouldn't know where to start or how to even do it. I am not a creative person at all even though I see things and I like them and some I absolutely love and print out thinking I am going to get to them but then never do.
Anyway, I would love to see how many more bloggers are in my area so please head on over to HERE and post your location. Be sure to let me know you did so I can check back and see how close any of us are. Who knows we might become great friends.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge. I know that I haven’t be consistent in posting them but I am trying. It is hard trying to figure out work, AVON, babysitting grandson, transporting adult kids and weight loss. But I want to Thank You for stopping by my blog and I would love it if you would subscribe/follow and comment. I am always looking to make and meet new friends.
Today I am joining up with Joyce again at From This Side of the Pond. If you haven’t been to her blog then check it out and join in on the fun. She always has wonder questions and makes you really stop and think about the answer.
1. Share a favorite song, book, or movie title containing the word green?
---Hmmmm, this is a hard one for me. I am not sure I honestly have one but there is a song that is sung by Ed Sheeran called “Thinking Out Loud” and it talks about how his girls soul will never grown old because it is evergreen. It seems to be a very popular song right now and I sing along every time I hear it.
2. Ralph Waldo Emerson is quoted as saying, 'Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.' Would you agree? Are you a believer in luck?
---I do believe in Luck. I mean seriously how else do you explain people that do bad things getting away with it in the human world? I know that all will be judged in front of God when their time is up but it would sure be nice for people here on earth see justice first hand in their life.
--- My husband is a strong believer in cause and effect. He says there is no such thing as luck. I disagree with him but I also believe in cause and effect as well.
3. Spring water, Hot Springs, handspring, spring fling, spring break, spring fever, offspring...which 'spring' word best applies to something in your day, week, or life right now?
---OFFSPRING!!!!! Both of my kid’s cars decided they were going to stop working this past Friday and yesterday. My daughters transmission went out in her car and my son’s starter (hope it’s the starter) went out in his yesterday. They both work day shift as do I so this morning was an early morning. I had to get up at 5:30 to get ready, make sure the kids were up and the grandbaby as well. Luckily my husband took the grandbaby to daycare for me and I was able to focus on getting the big kids to work on time. For a change I was actually at work on time as well…lol. Gee imagine that.
4. What's something you do to make yourself look or feel more confident?
--- Loose weight!!!!! I have lost 20lbs officially since October. I am not on a diet per say. In October I changed from a big size dinner plate to a salad plate. If it didn’t fit on the plate in a single layer it didn’t get on the plate and therefore not in my tummy tummy. In January I started watching my fat count. It has been hard but worth it.
5. It's National Celery Month...are you a fan? If so, what's a snack or dish you enjoy that calls for celery?
--- I love celery. I put it in my tuna fish, salads and even in my chicken soup. I can eat it by itself or with peanut butter. Either way is good.
6. What's one thing you wish you'd learned sooner?
--- Not to trust certain people. I have lost a lot of stuff because I put trust in people and took them at their word. This has cost me both financially and mentally.
7. Would you like to own a second home? If so where would you want that home to be?
--- Heck I would be happy to own the first one!!!! I had once once but lost it due to a divorce. See answer 6 above..lol. I actually loved that house but the neighborhood has gotten really bad so in away it was a blessing that I lost the house due to foreclosure. But it had a lot of great memories and I do miss it sometimes.
But if I could own a second home, I would be torn between Colorado Springs, North Carolina, Maine and Florida. There is something about each state that I love but I guess since I love the 4 seasons and the mountains, I will pick Colorado Springs. It is high to live there but the view is beautiful!!!! Well worth it!!!!
These are just a few pictures of the mountain view scenery. Oh how I miss it there. There is so much to see and do but in the winter it is absolutely gorgeous with the snow covered mountain tops.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
--- It has been a tough week with all the mechanical issues with the cars this week. I so wish that my kids were little again and not have to run them back and forth to work, bring them lunch and so forth.
I am thankful for my grandson but man time is flying by. He will be 8 months old tomorrow. He is growing up so fast on us and is such a love.
I was fully reminded of how my mamma felt for years when she was helping me get the kids to and from school and the doctors’ offices while I worked. Man what a lot of work and running she did for me. Thank you mom and I hope you know how much I cherished you helping me and I cherish your memories. I miss you and love you!!!!
Why do men want to get a girl/woman pregnant, talk about how he is going to do this and do that for them and the baby and then when the baby gets here it is all talk???? I never understood that. If you are going to choose to do an adult act and engage in relations then you need to be sure you are ready for the consequences regardless of the lifestyle you want or have. You need to step up to the plate and support the child/children without being asked. Now don’t get it wrong, this isn’t just for men when it comes to supporting the child/children. I am a firm believer that if you are producing children then you need to support them regardless of your feelings towards the other parent!!!!!
Ok Rant over.
I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know you were here. Again, I love meeting new people and we all want to grow in knowledge and friendship.
I hope you have a great and wonderful rest of the week and I look forward to reading your blog as well.

Not to mention you can get that extra lasting fragrance smell by layering fragranced lotion or shower gel to make you smells good last longer. Did you know the key to long lasting perfume is to layer it. The more layers you have the longer it will last.
With this one as you can see we continue our skin care and personal care sales with these amazing items for the men in our lives, our children, our feet and making us more beautiful than we already are. The soaps for the children are absolutely amazing. A new customer told me the other day that she absolutely loved the childrens body wash that she got for her boys and even her husband was telling her that she needed to order more. They love taking a bath now because AVON has made it fun for them!!!! You can't get a better compliment than that from your customer on the products that you sell. I was so pleased to hear that because now I can share with everyone!!!!
I have personally used more then one of these products and I am a firm believer that no matter what industry you are in, if you use the product and you don't like it then you sure as heck don't promote it. What kind of person would I be if I told you that a product was great if I myself wouldn't use it.
