Hello everyone and welcome to the last Wednesday Hodgepodge of July. If you haven't yet joined in on the Hodgepodge be sure to go over to Joyce's page over at From This Side of the Pond and read the rules and then jump on in. She always has great creative questions and a away of getting you to thinking about your past and alot of memories. So feel free to leave some blog lovin and let me know you were here with your link back to your site and lets grow our followers and learn about one another.
1. "Summer is like childhood. It's full of warm memories and gone too soon."~Kellie Elmore Agree or disagree? Share something you loved about the summers of your childhood.
---- I would have to agree. Summers never did seem to last that long when I was younger. My favorite memories of when me, my mom and a bunch of our friends and family would get together and go to the park and cook out. Sometimes my brothers would go and sometimes they wouldn't but we always had fun.
2. Are you a fan of auto racing-NASCAR, Indy, Stock, Grand Prix, etc? Ever been to a race in person? Any desire to do this? Do you know a lot about cars? Do you notice particular makes and models when you're out and about?
---- Honestly I could care less about NASCAR. Watching cars go around and around isn't interesting to me at all.
3. What's something you think is too serious to be joked about? Or do you think anything and everything is fair game?
---- Oh wow there is too many things to list on this one. But I would have to say "wishing someone was dead". I used to say it alot when I would get mad but after loosing my mom and my oldest daughter I have learned the hard way what that feels like and honestly I wouldn't wish that on anyone!!!!
4. July 29th is National Lasagna Day. Are you a fan? Do you have a great recipe, and if so where did it come from? If given a choice would you choose a plate of lasagna or a plate of spaghetti?
---- I love lasagna but if I had to choose it would be spaghetti. Even though they are both feeling lasagna is one of those dishes I just have to be in the mood for.
5. What's a simple pleasure you'd miss if it were not a regular part of your life?
---- Waking up to my husband bringing me coffee in bed. Even though we are totally different people when it comes to waking up in the morning he tries to make it less painful for me in the morning by bringing me coffee and giving me kisses.
6. If you could be the CEO of any company, which would you choose?
---- Another great question. I would have to say it would be Making Dreams Come True. I love to see people happy and I know all too well what it is like to dealing with depression and loss. I want to make the world a better place and if that includes putting a smile on someone's face that really needs it then that is what I would love to do.
7. August is just around the bend...bid farewell to July in exactly seven words.
---- Thank you for the memories and love July!!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
---- Well my grandson is finally here and he is perfect. Even though my daughter was miserable for the majority of her pregnancy she had a very beautiful baby and it was all worth it. She didn't have a hard labor but I am sure she is in 7th heaven right now. Her son wasn't due until 2 days after her birthday but he came 4 days earlier then expected. She had 8 hrs of labor once we reached the hospital and only about and hour of pushing. She is a great mommy and certainly loves her son to pieces. It feels so good to come home to a new baby again. In my eyes nothing makes the world more right then the innocence of a newborn child. They somehow make everything evil disappear.
Thank you all for your kind words, inspiration and well wishes during her pregnancy. She certainly needed them since she was a high risk pregnancy and was so sick during the beginning that she literally lost weight for the first 4 months. It was hell on her but yes an experience that she will always cherish as most moms do and she is an excellent mommy. In case you haven't seen my little pumpkin yet here is a pic of him, mom and dad before dad had to head back home to Texas.
May you all have a wonderful day and a great rest of the week. Don't forget to leave a comment and be sure to leave your link as well so we can all stop by one another's site and say hi.

Hello everyone and Happy Friday. I had to share the above picture because it is my newest Grandson. I caught him smiling when I was waiting for the nurse to come give my daughter her discharge papers. I couldn't resist but to share it with you. Nothing makes my day more then a baby and puppy dogs. I mean seriously how can not smile at this picture. I know it might be gas but it might not but either way it is a smile and it is precious.
So I missed Wednesday Hodgepodge because well to be honest when I got home all I wanted to do was to hold my little guy. It feels so great to have a baby in the house again. They make the world right for a moment. And now for all of the Stats on this little fella as promised to some of my regular readers request.
We got to welcome Christian Phoenix into the world on July 19 at 4:13 p.m. and he weighed in at 7lb 2.6 oz and a whooping 20 1/2 inches long with a head full of hair. My daughter got an epidural once we got to the hospital and he decided at that time he was comfortable and didn't want to come out so we have to get them to give her pitocin to make him join us. She didn't have to push very long and he was born. She did an excellent job. He is perfect in every sense of the word and I couldn't be more proud.
He is like most newborns and wakes up every couple of hours for feeding but other then that not a sound one out of him. He is already lifting up his head and I keep telling him he isn't suppose to be doing that but it doesn't matter babies do what babies do regardless of our thoughts or opinions.
I was glad to see that his daddy was able to be here for the delivery. That meant so much to my daughter. He lives in Texas and she moved back up here with me during her pregnancy so she had a support system in case anything was needed or happened. As for her moving back to Texas I sure hope she doesn't but only time will tell.
He was born on Saturday and daddy had to leave to go back on Tuesday and my daughter got some really great photos of him with the baby at the airport and one of them together. Oh I almost forgot to mention that her birthday was on the 22nd so he came 4 days before her birthday. What a present to have.
So thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. I will be enjoying my snuggle bug when I get home.

Happy Sunday everyone. For some reason I got up at 5:30 yesterday morning which is about 1hr 1/2 earlier then I normally wake up on a Saturday. However, it wasn't much longer that my daughter woke up in labor. We thought we were going to have a baby a couple of days ago but it turned out to be false labor. Saturday was the real deal though. I am just happy that Daddy got here in time to see his son brought into this world. My daughter was so worried that he was going to miss the birth of their baby. You see his lives in Texas and she moved back home in December to be with me so she would have 24/7 support during her pregnancy. I am glad she did.
So yesterday my daughter came to me about 6:30 and said she was in major pain. I asked how far apart the contractions were and she said about 4 minutes apart. I told her that the doctor said until they were 2 minutes apart and she couldn't do anything between them then we could take her back to the hospital. So at 7:30 she couldn't take it any longer. She was miserable, in pain and they were coming faster and harder then before. So I jumped in the shower and headed to the hospital.
We got there in 13 minutes. Thank goodness there wasn't alot of traffic at that time of the morning and we were able to take the back roads and avoid any major issues. So we get there and I was so afraid they were going to send her home again. But they didn't. They checked her and said "we are having a baby". We were all relieved that they weren't sending us back home. So they moved her into her room for the big event and then me, daddy and my sister in law Kisha started taking bets on when he would be born. Well I said 1:00, daddy said 2:30 and Kisha said the 4 o'clock hour. She was right. At 4:13 p.m. we welcomed baby Christian into the world. He weighed in at 7lb 2.6 oz with a head full of hair. He was perfect. He had 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 eyes, a mouth and a nose with two perfectly shaped ears. Absolutely perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cried as soon as he was born because I mean seriously how can you not??? My daughter cried as well and then she looked at me and said "I just had a baby". My heart melted and as I was still teary eyed and said "yes baby, yes you did and he is perfect".
Of course I immediately grabbed my cell phone and started snapping pictures. I will be doing alot more pictures once they are out of the hospital and sharing with you all when I do so be sure to check back soon to see our newest arrival. But for now I wanted to share just a few and I recorded him getting checked out and him crying but not real sure how to put that on here. But I will figure it out eventually. SO here are some more pictures for you to see this precious perfect gift from God. I hope you enjoy.
As you can see we have one happy Momma and Daddy. I am so proud of my daughter. She was a champ when it came time for action.
Congratulations Victoria and Richie. Your baby is absolutely Perfect and Beautiful not that I am bias or anything!!!! I am so proud of you both.

Hello everyone and happy Saturday. We are at the hospital waiting for the baby to arrive. So far mom and baby are good. She isn't feeling any pain just some pressure now and then. It shouldn't be much longer now. At least her and baby aren't going to have the same birthday. Her birthday is the 22nd and her due date was the 24th but I guess he had his own time lol. Waiting for the doctor to fine back and check on her so we will know how much closer we are to meeting baby Christian.
I will post more later. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hello everyone and Happy Friday. Today I am following up on a blog post that my sister-in-law Kisha did on her blog yesterday. Together we are partnering with each other to offer everyone a great incentive and discount. In her video she does a great job of capturing all of the wonderful things about this product such as the SPF50 + Antioxidants and the difference it can make on the damage caused to your skin by the environment. Not to mention is is also Recommended byt eh Skin Cancer Foundation for Daily Use. I also wanted to touch on the $5 off a $25 dollar order that I am giving to new customers.
Unfortunately there isn't a code you can put in for this on the website and it is something that I am only offering and not AVON. How this works is for every new customer that logs onto my AVON site you will get reimbursed $5 for every $25 that you spend. When you register on my site you will have to put in your email address and then I will be able to contact you in order to get the $5 back to you. If you have a Paypal account then I can just send it to you via Paypal, if you don't then I can send you either a giftcard or a money order. Avon is working on a way that we can input our own codes for instant discount but right now that hasn't been implemented for us to be able to do that.
However, I do have more savings for you guys as you venture over to my site and check it out. Right now if you go to Retailmenot and see alot of great online codes you can use for my store. My favorite would be the 20% off a $50 order and it is instant. All you have to do is type AVONFB20 at the checkout portion and you will get 20% off and FREE shipping.
It has also been listed as the MVP in Redbook 2014 which is super exciting because that means they are a believer in our product. I love seeing that we are featured in a major magazine that reaches thousands of people and that we are extremely affordable compared to other brands.
So not only are you getting a great product that has endorsements from Redbook, you are also getting $5 sent back to you from me for any order of $25 which is 20% you will also get an additional 20% off with using the AVONFB20 code for a $50 order and FREE SHIPPING. However, Avon is going to do one better for you. With a $75 dollar order you will get the following for free which is a $48 dollar value.
This free 6 piece gift set includes: Wash off Waterproof Mascara, 2 Bug Guard Towlettes, Footworks Intensive Moisture Foot Cream, Moisture Theraphy Intense Healing Lip Ointment, SSS Aqua Hand Lotion and the cutest Rosetta Tote Bag ever!!!!!
WOW!!!!!!! What amazing savings and discounts that I am offering you for shopping on my website. But don't wait long because this great deal on the Free 6-Piece won't last long. With just the free 6-Piece and the $5 that I will be sending you back is a total value of $53 dollars so you will be getting over a $100 worth of product at a huge discount savings.
So be sure to check out this Review Post over at Kisha's blog and see for yourself. She has a Video Review on this product and all the wonderful benefits.

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge. I missed last weeks because I was so busy and totally forgot. This week has slowed down some but not completely. So be sure to join in on the fun of the Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce over at From This Side of The Pond and show some blog lovin while your at it. It is really interesting to see the things that she comes up with along with all the different and great answers.
1. The month of July was named for Roman Emperor Julius Caesar. He's quoted as saying, 'Experience is the teacher of all things." So what has experience taught you lately?
---- To keep my mouth shut even when it is hard. This is a very hard challenge for me but I am doing it.
2. Where did you last 'roam'?
---- We haven't roamed anywhere since Thanksgiving. I went to visit my brother and my sister-in-law Kisha over at kjaggers formally The Glamorous French Housewife. Right now I am waiting for my daughter to deliver so we can take the baby up and show them.
3. Speaking of 'Rome'...pizza, pasta, gelato...you can only pick one, which would you choose?
---- Pasta because you can add so much more to it for a different variety everyday.
4. 'Rome wasn't built in a day', 'All roads lead to Rome', 'When in Rome...' which 'Roman' idiom have you most recently encountered? Explain.
---- Rome wasn't built in a day!!!!!!!!! This is something that my mom used to say all the time and I find myself saying the same thing lately. My daughter is very anxious and nervous about not having everything done and just right for when her baby gets her. She honestly is driving me nuts from time to time but I remember how I was with my first one so I am very patient with her. However, Rome wasn't built in a day is so fitting for her.
5. What's a movie you've seen or a book you've read, that makes you want to book a trip to Italy?
----- Well the only one I can think of is the one with Julia Childs. I honestly can't recall any movie and none of the books I read have Italy in them.
6. Walt's original Disneyland opened almost sixty years ago, on July 17, 1955 Have you ever been to the California park? How about any of the other Disney parks around the world? What's your favorite amusement park ride or attraction?
---- Unfortunately I haven't been to the one in California. I have however been to the one in Florida twice. I don't have a favorite ride but my most Favorite part of the park is the Parade on Main Street.
7. It's that time of year...when were you last bitten or stung?
---- I can honestly say it has been over a year ago. Being an Avon Lady I know to wear my SSS Oil or spray down the our Deet Free Bug Guard.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
---- Well we are officially 9 days from the due date and the daddy finally got here today. This is the first time they have seen each other since she came home in December. So in celebration of him coming to visit for a week she is cooking dinner tonight.....woooohooooo I can't wait. But honestly, I am trying my hardest to find a planner that is going to get me organized and I think I may have found one but don't want to pay the $15 for it. I am going to try and figure a way to make my own and hopefully save some money on it.
---- On a good note, my sister-in-law is getting ready to do a review on Skinvinsible for Avon and is going to be doing a giveaway with it. So we will see how that goes.
