Wednesday Hodgepodge

Happy Wednesday everyone. Today I am joining in on another great Wednesday Hodgepodge. I should of had this done yesterday for today's release but yesterday was crazy. So I hope you will join in on the fun with me and Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond and share your answers and meet new friends.

1. April showers bring May flowers or so the saying goes. Are you blooming where you're planted as we begin the month of May?
----  I have always loved that saying because that means that the world will have a little more beauty in it.  I am not a gardening type person although this year my daughter is home and is tired of looking at a depressing flowerbed in the front yard.  So she is working on planting.  However the previous owners of our house was nice enough to plant some daffodils (or as I have always called them...buttercups) and tulips.  Which I love both of them but my favorite would be lillies which my daughter is planting...wooohoooo.

2. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being no big deal, and 10 being full scale panic, rank your fear of spiders.
---- 10 for sure.  I go absolutely apeshit crazy when I see a spider regardless of how big or small it is.  My husband laughs at me because I am so terrified of them.  He says they are the good bugs but I highly disagree with that statement.

3. May is National Salad Month (who knew???)...besides lettuce, what are two must-have ingredients in your favorite salad?
----- I love salads of all sorts but I would have to say my two must haves is cucumbers and tomatoes.  I am sorry but nothing says salad like those two items do.  However, we put a little bit of everything in our salads including dill pickles and sweet pickles.  Yeah I know crazy right.

4. I mentioned on my blog last week that my Daughter1 will be moving to Washington State after she is married. Of the following sites in the Northwest, which would you most like to see in person-Crater Lake (Oregon), Seattle (Washington), Vancouver (British Columbia), San Juan Islands (Washington),  Mt. Rainer (Washington) Oregon Coast (Oregon), Mt. St. Helens (Washington), or Olympic National Park (Washington)
------ I would have to say Seattle just because it looks like a variety of culture and it is one place I have always wanted to go.  Not sure why I am drawn there but that is my pick.  However, I love to travel so why not all of them????

5. This coming weekend marks the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby...when did you last race (literally or figuratively) to cross a finish line?
----  I do this every Tuesday.  We have a girl in the office that brings in timesheets that have to be coded and that is my job which I then have to give them to the payroll clerk which wants them by 1:30 but I never get them until about 1p.m.

6. What is something little you love?
-----  I have a trinket box that my momma bought me when I was a little girl that I have somehow managed to keep all these years.  It is in the shape of a heart.  I have it in my cabinet that I am using as a memory keeper for my daughter and mom.

7. Would you say you are more of a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner? Elaborate.
----  I am definitely a visual learner for sure.  I can read something all day long and still be lost about it but if you show me I can do it without a problem.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
----- As some of you may know that I have two grandchildren from my daughter who died almost 6 yrs ago that I haven't seen since she died because they live with their dad.  Well for the longest time they have not been posting any pictures of them on Facebook which I stalk like no other and they are finally starting to put pictures of them on there.  Well a colleague introduced me to Pizap which is a photo editing program and I have been playing around with it.  This is a collage that I did of my daughter's Senior picture and then the two grand babies that were taking this month.

Sorry I can't get them to go side by side but here is the two collages that I made.  Kaylee is going to be 9 this year and Aadyn will be 7 this year and Heather would have been 25.  She was 19 when she was killed, Kaylee was 3 1/2 and Aadyn was only 18 months old.  I just pray everyday that they are reminded of her and know that she loved them deeply.

So don't forget to let me know you were here and then jump over and visit Joyce and all the others on Wednesday Hodgepodge.

Friday Letters

photo from http://courageouslove.net/

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Friday Letters.  Today has been a somewhat long and boring day and it is only 6:43 p.m.  I have been in a slump it seems with everything including my Avon business which is a bad thing.  I have so much stuff I want to do and get done that I don't even know where to start with writing a list.  So I will start with this and get that one off the list.

Dear God,  thank you for giving me another day to be with my family, friends and all those that I don't get to see everyday.  I am glad that the weather is finally getting warmerish and enjoyable.

Dear Trent,  thank you for listening to me bitch about stuff that seems non relative to you.  I know we have different ways of thinking but you listen and try to give me advise that I will follow.  I hear what you are saying I really do but putting some of it in action is another story.  I am especially thankful that you are done with night work.  I hate it when you are not here at night with me.

Dear Victoria,  hopefully we can pin down the invitations that you want, this going back and forth is enough to drive a person crazy.  I know you are excited about the baby shower and I am excited for you.  I am glad that Christian is moving more and you get to experience a joy that many do not.

Dear Brandon,  thank you for cutting the grass the other day and taking out the garbage without being asked.  It so needed to be done and you did it with a little attitude but you did it nonetheless.  I love you and am proud of the man you are becoming.  Now call your dad and grandma.

Dear Marie,  thank you for getting me orders for my Avon business.  It is such a help when I can't get everywhere to service people that you are willing to take orders and deliver them for me.  Even if it is at your work.

Dear Kevin,  I hope you get good news about the appointments that you have had recently.  I know you have got to be going stir crazy in the house all the time.

Dear Kisha,  I am so sorry that you are going through what you are going through.  I totally agree with you on how you feel and so know first hand the drama that follows.  I unfortunately have had my own taste of what you are going through and it sucks!  Hang in there and you will get through.  Just pray.

Dear Scott,  you have a birthday tomorrow and I wish we could all be there with you to celebrate.  Just know that we love you all and miss you all as well.  Can't wait till you come up here in May and we can see you.  Hope the doctor gives you better news then what you have gotten lately.

Dear Jonathan,  thank you for putting pictures of Kaylee up on your facebook page.  I sent you a private message and I hope that you read it and take it to heart.  All I want is for my family to be together and for Kaylee to know that she is loved and we are still here for her and wanting to be a part of her life.

Dear Brandon,  I know you don't have a facebook page or at least not one that I can find however, your girlfriend Jayce does.  I want to thank her for putting pictures of Aadyn on there for me to see.  He is so adorable and I miss him so much.  I haven't seen him since October 22, 2008 which was only 16 days after we lost his mommy in the motorcycle accident.  I miss him and I want to be a part of his life.  He does look happy and health which I am thankful for and he seems to adore your girlfriend.  I am also thankful for that.  I wish you would contact me so I can be a part of his life and share with him who his mommy is and was.

Dear Avon Customers,  thank you for sticking with me this past year.  It has been an adventure and because of you I am now in the top 10% of Avon Achievers for Presidents Club which is an honor to be in.

Dear me, get your shit together and get back on track.  You can do this as you have done it before.  I know you are feeling overwhelmed, helpless, distracted, irritated and all the other emotions that you have been going through but this isn't anything new.  We have been here before and will be here again.  Get it together already!!!!!

Dear blogger friends and family, thank you for stopping by my little ole blog.  I know that I don't blog on a daily basis which is something that I am trying to work on.  Between work, home and my Avon business honestly when I come home after work I just want to hide in my room just breathe but that doesn't happen very often.  So thank you again for stopping by and leaving your comments.  Let me know what you would like to hear about and I can try and get it up and going for you all.  My sister-in-law Kisha over at The Glamorous French Housewife tells me all the time that I need to start doing videos especially since I sell Avon.  I am considering it but let me know what you think.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Good morning everyone.  Today we are back with another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge.  Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond is back from Spring Break and ready for another link up.  So be sure to visit her page, copy the questions and join in on the fun.  We love meeting new people so lets spread the word, visit at least 3 people and let them know you were here.   There is no right or wrong answer, just getting to know you answers.

1. April 22nd is Earth Day. Are you inspired by nature? In what way?
----- Nature is always inspiring.  It reminds me that everyday is a fresh new start, nothing is impossible and all things will grow if given time.

2. Down to earth, four corners of the earth, move heaven and earth, not have an earthly chance, or salt of the earth...which earthly idiom have you most recently encountered? Explain.
----- Ok this is a tough one because I have been the majority of them recently.  I am always down to earth because of a tragic loss I can't afford not to be.  I would certainly go to the four corners of the earth to find what my family needs.  I have moved Heaven and Earth for my children several times when they were in trouble, depressed or just need help.  I know that I am and have been the salt of the earth to several people.  I will have to say that the "Not have an earthly chance" would go for me stop smoking and lose weight at the same time.  Nope it ain't gonna happen no matter how hard I wish, want or desire.  I just don't have that strength.

3. Share one piece of advice you might give a newly engaged couple.
----- My best advise would be to focus on each other and take into consideration people's advise but only act if it is in the best interest of your relationship.

4. When did you last engage someone to perform a job, task, service, home repair, or improvement? On a scale of 1-10 (ten being the best) how would you rate their work and/or your satisfaction with the job or service provided?
---- I would say a new girl at work.  I have given her the task of contacting all customers and getting Tax Exemption forms.  She made the comment that "I don't know why I am doing this, it isn't my job", I responded with "no it isn't but I do more then my job as well and I asked you to do this".  Over all I have been satisfied with her doing the work and will give her a 10 for getting them, however, in the attitude department I give her a big ole -0-.

5. When did you last find yourself engaged in small talk? Are you awkward or an expert or somewhere in between?
---- I am always engaged in small talk it seems.  Either with family, co-workers or prospects for my Avon Business that I work in addition to my full-time job.  I would consider myself a novice when it comes to creativity with marketing.

6.  What was the last historic place you visited?
---- Wow way to make me think there Joyce.  I am going to have to say that it was when my brother and Sister-in-law lived in Coshocton OH and we went to Roscoe Village.  It was a very neat little place to visit.  The whole village is historic.

7. The world would be a better place if we just__________________________.
-----  Brought back discipline, accountability and manners and stopped letting the Government tell us how to raise and discipline our children.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
-----  Lately I have been finding myself trying to get more creative, organized and decorative.  Needless to say I am none of these things.  I want so much to make a change in my life but it is hard when my husband is against any of it.  Before we got married I would have sticky notes everywhere to keep me from forgetting, nope he ain't having it.  I had photos all over the walls, no not overly so but clustered, nope he ain't having it either.  He says that our house is not a museum or a photo album.  Yeah we don't see eye to eye on alot of things that I want to do in regards to changing things up and getting creative when I do find something I like.  It drives me crazy.  But I love him and I can understand his idea of wanting to keep things simple and clean.  However, I find it depressing and cluttered.  I like variety when it comes to the house.  I look though several blogs and think...ohhhhh I want to do that and then realize I can't.

Anyway, I hope that you all enjoyed this edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge and will join in on the fun and meet new people.  After all isn't this whole blogging idea to meet new people, get inspired, and share your world with everyone?  Looking forward to meeting new friends, new ideas and new inspiration.  Now if someone would do a tutorial on how you make printable, the program they use (that is free) and their creative idea images I would be one happy camper.

April Wednesday Hodgepodge

Good morning everyone.  Sorry I should of had this up hours ago but honestly I haven't been on my home computer that much lately.  I just haven't felt like it and honestly have been a little busy with work and Avon.  I love that I can do so much with my Avon business to help me do other things that I love and enjoy.

Today I am doing another Wednesday Hodgepodge link up with Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond.  She puts up questions every Tuesday evening for us to answer and then shares hers with us on Wednesday so we can link up and meet new people.  So please feel free to join in on the fun and let us know you were here.

1. April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes. When did you last 'shower' attention on someone or have attention 'showered' on you? Did you love it, or did all that attention make you squirm?
-----  I always shower my husband with attention and my kids.  I believe that no matter what you are suppose to do for your loved ones so they know you are always there for them and you love them regardless of what is going on in their life.

2. Share a favorite 'spring break' memory. Not talking about just the 'college spring break' thing, but any favorite spring break memory you'd like to share. Keep it family friendly please!
-----  I never really did anything special for spring break because of working all the time.  However, I did get to take my two boys to Florida for spring break one year.  That was interesting.

3. It's National Pecan Month...are you a fan? If so, what's your favorite dish that calls for pecans?
-----  I don't care for Pecan's really.  I am more of a walnut fan and regular peanuts.

4.  'Put all your eggs in one basket', 'egg on your face', 'rotten egg', 'walk on eggshells', or 'a good egg'...which egg-spression could most recently be applied to your own life?
---- Walking on Egg Shells for sure.  My daughter is pregnant so I have to be careful what I say to not set her off in an emotional hormone filled rampage.

5.  In my experience___________________________________.
-----  There is always a way out of any situation and a solution for everything.  Just because it may seem impossible doesn't mean that it is.

6. What's a  favorite song with the word rain in its title or lyrics?
---- Eddie Money "I Love a Rainy Night"

7. What does the word hope mean to you?
----- Hmmmm this is a tough one to answer.  Hope can mean alot of things but mostly it means I am not out for the count.  Again, like I stated earlier just because it may seem impossible doesn't mean it is.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
-----I have been experiencing alot of medical issues lately and now it seems to be getting worse or more.  However, I am going to call and get to the doctor because the lack of sleep, the acid reflux, the weight gain and migraines have got to go.  Not to mention I am wanting to stop smoking before my grandbaby is born.
-----  The other thing that seems to bother me lately is that when I find something great on another website and want to print it out that there is no print button on the site and I have to print it out the long way.  Sorry ok rant over.

So go ahead and join in on the fun.  Let me know you were here by leaving a comment or clicking the Blue Join This Site button on the right. I would love to hear your feed back and know I am not the only one with some of the issues that I have....lol.  Happy Wednesday and welcome aboard.

Happy Friday and Weekend!!!!!!

Picture brought to you by Blue Eyes and Biscotti

Today is another edition of Friday Letters.  Now mind you I have been extremely lazy this week with doing blog post and hopefully will be able to get more done here soon.  But with the weather being crazy, not feeling good and chaos at work I just haven't been blogging.  I have been able to read a few blogs and get some really great ideas but I haven't really posted this week at all until today.  So I guess Friday's are a good a day as any to start back up right?  Yeap that's right, it's Friday's Letters and time to clear the air on some things.  :-) So happy reading and without further delay here we go....

Dear Mother Nature, seriously you need to take a Prozac or something.  You are driving us crazy with all of this weird weather.  I am glad that Spring is finally here however, with the strong winds and the bad ran and storms we can't enjoy it as much.  Please stop changing so much and pick a reasonable temperature and stick with it for awhile.

Dear God,  I know that everything happens for a reason and I want to say thank you for whatever reason it is that you would send Angels to be with my sister-in-law in her wreck.  It was extremely scary for her I am sure and I know the rest of us were worried when we heard.  So thank you for keeping her safe.  I do ask however, that you keep the family that lost a little boy this week in a car wreck in your arms and let them know that you are always there and all they have to do is call your name.

Dear Trent,  thank you for always listening and being there.  I know that I am not the easiest and to you most things are cut and dry and that is just how it is.  However, with me it isn't that way.  There is usually a little dampness in there somewhere....lol.  Thanks for loving me and standing by my side.

Dear Victoria,  I am so proud of you for wanting to get everything in order before the baby gets here.  However, you have a high risk pregnancy and you wanting to get your own place and stuff is just going to have to wait until you can get a job which means you are going to have to wait until after the baby is born to get a job and get your own place.  The cake we made last night made the house smell so good and I took one to work with me this morning for the ladies up here in the office.

I will have to say that making this coffee cake from scratch was a bit of a challenge but man did it make the house smell wonderful !!!!!!  I have never had coffee cake before so this will be a new experience for me.  I didn't have any at home last night so we will see.

Dear Brandon,  thank you for stepping up and helping out more with the household stuff.  I just wish now I could get you to drop the attitude when I ask you to help out.  I love you and I am proud that you are a great son and are not out getting into trouble.

Dear Kisha and Scott, I am glad to see that things are getting a little better.  I have never had broken ribs before but I have had a major wreck and a separated shoulder.   I know how bad that hurt and that it took several people to take care of me because I couldn't do anything for myself pretty much and had 3 kids to take care of at the same time.  I am glad that you are still here and getting better.

Dear Kevin and Marie,  I am glad that things are getting better.  Just remember that no matter what we are family and we are always here for each other rather it be good, bad, indifferent or whatever, we are first and foremost always family and we help and love each other.

Dear KayLee and Aadyn,  We all miss you both so much.  It really sucks that we can't see you and haven't seen you since shortly after your mommy went to heaven to get her wings.  I just hope that you know that we all Love You and Miss you and want to be a part of your life.  For whatever reason we are not allowed to be and we pray everyday that we can be and that your daddy will change his mind and let us be a part of your life.   I don't know how to get ahold of you all but please know that I will always be here for you both.  I have the same phone number now that I had when your mommy was still with us and I have bought the number so no one can every get it.

Dear Mom and Heather,  I miss you both so much and I know that the rest of the family does as well.  You two were like the center force of everything that held us together.  It has been almost 6 years now since you both left us and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you both and miss you.  I still find myself wanting to call you both and tell you how my day has been or just to hear your voice.  I love you both and will see you both again someday.  Until that day comes keep yourselves out of trouble and make sure that you hug and play with all the babies that God is bringing home from this crazy messed up earth.

Dear blog friends and visitors, thank you so much for doing what you do out there.  It is great to get to meet so many of you and to share your world.  So again, thank you for being you and know that we are all here together and we are never alone no matter how you may feel or think.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a Great Friday.  Stay safe out there no matter where you are and know that someone somewhere is thinking about you and cares.
