Wednesday Hodgepodge

Today is another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge brought to us from Joyce at From This Side of The Pond.  Be sure to let me know you were here and then jump over to her site and join in on the fun.  She always makes you think even when you don't want

1. What is something you'll never forget about the age you are right now?
----Well I would have to say that my daughter calling to tell me on Thanksgiving that she was pregnant.  I was silent for along time because I couldn't figure out if she was happy or sad.

2. What's a household chore you've never done? How have you managed that???
----uhhhhh I would have to say None.  I have done them all that I know of.

3. Does nature shape our personalities more than nurture? Explain?
---- I don't think so.  I think nurturing shapes us to who we are when we grow up.  Or at least in my situation it has.  I love nature but not all of nature, you know spiders, bugs, yucky stuff.  My mom has always taught me to respect nature because we wouldn't want someone destroying our stuff so we shouldn't destroy it.

4. Friday (February 28th) is 'Something on a Stick Day'...funny because Zoanna over at A Penchant for Pens recently sent me an idea for a question relating to this topic. What's your favorite food eaten on a stick?
---- Oh this one is easy for me.....CORNDOGS!!!!!  I love corndogs like there is no tomorrow but I don't buy them very often because I know if I did then I would probably eat the whole box in one day.  Not good for my waist line.

5. Which of your five senses do you treasure most, and why?
---- Sight.  I couldn't imagine a world where I couldn't see the one's I love.  You have an independence with your sight that most take for granted.  If you didn't have your sight then you would have to learn to depend on others, never get to see the beauty of a newborn baby or a rainbow.  Almost everything we do in life is dependent on our sight.

6. What's the best music, theatre, or sporting venue you've been to? What made it great?
----- BON JOVI!!!!!  Need I really say more.  OMG that man is absolutely undoubtedly without hesitation one of the sexiest men in the world.  Everything from his 80's hair to his bluejeans....oh how  Dorothea Hurley is blessed.  Not to mention this man is a Soccer Dad and carpools his kids.

7. It's the last week of the five words or less bid adieu to your February.
----I won't miss you any!!!!!!!

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
----February is usually a hard month for me.  Having my other daughter home this year has made it more bearable because she has made me refocus on other things then the fact that is is my late daughters birth month.  Also with blogging it has given me more of a chance to express my thoughts, feelings and many blessings in life.  I love to blog and am getting better at it everyday.

Please let me know you were here by saying hi and give me your thoughts on how your day is going or what you would like to see more of on my blog.  I will be doing alot more blogging on product reviews coming soon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Brother

Today's post is dedicated to my big brother Kevin aka HoneyDear.  I know that he probably slept in this morning so I will be calling him around lunch.  Today my brother turns 40'  No I won't put his age out there.

Kevin is my oldest brother from my mom and we have been close for as long as I can remember.  Even when he went off to the Navy when I was around 11 or 12.  I was so glad when he came back home.  I missed him.  He was the one that taught me to fight, how to bring someone to their knees if they grabbed me by my throat and was always there to protect yet teach me to protect myself.  I want to put a picture on here but he is like my husband in that respect.  They don't want their pictures out there for just anyone.  So I can't put it up even though I want to.

So today is just a quick post to tell him that I Love Him and that I Miss Him even though we only like about 15 miles from each other.  It is still hard to get to see him as much as I would like.  Due to his health issues it is hard for him to get around sometimes and by the time I get home from work I am just exhausted.  We have tried to implement weekly dinners together but by the time his wife gets off work and picks him up and then heads to my house it is way past dinner time for all of us.  So now we are changing it to the weekend.

So to my big brother who I love to pieces, I hope your day is filled with Love, Laughter and many blessings.  I will have your card and stuff for you on Saturday when I see you and ReeRee.  I hope you have a great day and take it easy.  Enjoy the day even though it is cold as H E double Hockey sticks outside.  Sending hugs and kisses.

Friday Letters and Finding out what we are having!!!!!!!!!

This is an appropriate picture for today's events!!!!!!!!!

Today is Friday and I am so super excited I can't stand it.  Today I get to see my grandbaby on the ultrasound and hopefully find out what my daughter is having.  It really doesn't matter what it is as long as it is healthy.

Dear God, Thank you for giving me another wonderful day to spend with all of my family, friends and loved ones.  I know that I don't always act like I appreciate it but I do.

Dear Victoria,  I am so super proud of you.  You are thinking ahead of when the baby gets here on how you are going to manage your own place to live, how you are going to pay for it and trying to figure out a plan on how to handle it all.  I wish you wouldn't stress over it.  We have plenty of time to figure it out and as long as I am alive I will always be your biggest cheerleader and I will help you through all that life throws at you.

Dear little monkey yet to be born,  I sure hope you cooperate today at the doctors.  I am so excited to find out what you are.  You have surely given your mommy hell during this pregnancy with the morning sickness, emotional roller coaster of hormones and yet you have made her grow up more then you could ever imagine for you not being here yet.  I can't wait to meet you but I will because God is making you perfect for us to love.

Dear Brandon,  I don't know why you seem to always have an attitude with me whenever I say something to you.  It really hurts my feelings when I tell you I Love You and to have a good day and you give me a big Sigh with a grunt.  I have always wanted the best for you and have tried to give you advice so that you don't have to deal with the hard facts of life.  You are my son and I will always love you, however, I won't tolerate being treated like a piece of crap with your attitude any longer.

Dear Trent, thank you for always having my back.  We are a great fit together and we need to start getting healthier for our future.  We have pretty much just gotten comfortable and let ourselves get lazy.  I am also sorry that you sleep on the couch so much.  I promise I will call the doctor and get a sleep study done.

Dear Mom,  I know you are watching down from Heaven.  I miss you so much.  I miss our talks about everything and anything.  I miss you being my biggest Cheerleader and Fan.  You were my rock and always made me feel like no matter what life threw at me I could handle it because I had you in my corner.  I Love You and Miss you more then anyone could imagine.  I am however glad that you weren't here to see me bury Heather.  I think that would have done you in.  You all were so close so it was only fitting when I buried her that I put your ashes in her coffin under her pillow so you all could be together for eternity.  I did however hear you in my mind saying "I can't even die without one of you up my a@@".

Dear Heather,  another year has come and gone since you have joined your Nana in Heaven.  You are missed every second of everyday.  I am sure your kids miss you and I know you are watching down on them from Heaven.  I can't believe that you are gone.  It still doesn't seem real even though it has been 5 years going on 6.  Your sister, brother and I catch ourselves all the time saying "if Heather was here" or "if Heather seen this".  It is still hard for us.  Just last night your sister was picking her mushrooms out of her spaghetti sauce and realized that you used to pick yours out and put them on her plate.

Dear Kisha,  I just want you to know that I Love You and Miss you and wish you all were closer.  Keep your head up and stand your ground.  Know that I am always here for you to talk to no matter what the subject is.

Dear Scott,  I know you like to help people but please consider all those involved before making a decision.  I love you and hope you are doing well.

Dear Kevin and Marie,  I miss you guys.  You all are going to have to come over sometime.  The invitation for dinners on Wednesdays are still open.  Just let us know when you plan on coming and we will be sure to fix enough for everyone.

Dear Sonye,  I hope that things are looking up for you.  I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me and helping me in my journey with Avon.  I told you when you signed me back up that I wouldn't disappoint and I haven't.  We are doing the darn thing as you say.

Dear Courtney,  you rock as a DSM.  Thank you for being my business partner and supporting me during all the things that Avon has thrown at us with incentives and recruiting.  You are a blessing.

Dear Leslie, you are a new DSM with Avon but you make a huge impact.  Thank you for helping me pick out some clothing to help me dress for the success that I am having with Avon.

Dear Blogging friends, thank you all for the encouraging words and advise.  Please feel free to follow me and let me know you were here.  I promise I will follow back.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's time for another wonderful Wednesday Hodgepodge from Joyce at From This Side of the Pond .  So be sure to check out her page and then link up with us.  Be sure to let me know you stopped by as well and say hi.

1. What's the biggest change since your childhood in the way people think or act?
----- People aren't as respectful as they used to be.  When I was growing up we were taught to say "yes Ma'am, no Ma'am, yes sir, no sir, please and thank you".  Manners were instilled in us to always respect our elders and other people's property.  Today kids and some adults alike don't have manners or respect.  It is really sad to see this and know that we have to make sure our children don't forget them.

2. The Olympic Biathlon involves cross country skiing broken up with either two or four rounds of target shooting. Which part of that would stress you out more? Or would you love them both equally?
------  All of it.  I haven't a clue on how to ski and as for shooting, that isn't a good idea for me either.  I would have to have buffer zone miles wide.

3. February is National Canned Food Month...what is your most often purchased canned food item?  What was in the last can you opened?
---- Peas is the most I would have to say.  As for the last can, well to be honest I can't remember.  I haven't cooked in over a week thanks to my daughter and husband.  :-)

4. What river (anywhere in the world) would you most like to cruise?
-----  I am going to have to say Columbia river.  However, I am terrified of water so it would have to have alot for me to see.

5. It's the middle of the night and you can't sleep...what do you do? Count sheep? Toss and turn? Watch television? Or do you get up and do something productive?
---- I watch t.v. only because if I was to do something productive I would wake the whole house.

6. How important is keeping your cool?
----  It is extremely important.  I have learned that you have a chance of saying something that you will regret if you don't and I don't want anything to come back and bite me later.

7. I've got white stuff on the brain so why not run with it? White lie, wave the white flag, white knuckle it, white wash a situation, or white as a sheet...which phrase could most recently apply to your own life in some way?
---- White knuckle.  Seriously with all the snow and ice on the roads I can't help but to keep a tight grip on that steering wheel when I am out and about.  Especially since my daughter is usually with me and she is pregnant.  I don't want to take a chance on anything happening to her and the baby.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
---- I have come to love blogging.  When I first started I wasn't sure what to write but as I have grown with it I have discovered that I am not alone.  Blogging is a great way to meet new people, catch up with old friends and learn new things.  I am always on here discovering and learning from all of you.  So please stop by and let me know you were here and I will be sure to check out your blog.

Happy Heavenly 25th Birthday to My Daughter Heather Nicole Jaggers

*****This post may offend some people.  This is a true and accurate account of the night my daughter died and my feelings that are a result of it.*******

Today would have been my daughters 25th Birthday.  She loved Crazy Daisies so it was only fitting to find a cake that had them on there.  I was surprised to see how many pictures there are on the web like this.  Thanks to everyone that shares.

There is no greater love then that of a mother.  I know that alot of people would disagree with that but it is the facts.  A father can love his child just as much but the mother will always have the greatest love for her child.  She is the one that carries the child to birth, she is the one that nurtures the child and is always the one that is there for the child no matter what.  That is what I did and that is what Heather did for her children.

25 years ago today I gave birth to a happy healthy baby girl.  She was precious and perfect in  every way.  She was my first of many more to come.  She was the first grandchild. She was the center of attention even after she was no longer the only child or grandchild.  She was unmatched in everything she did.  She was Heather Nicole Jaggers aka The Princess.  She was the first to give me grandchildren and the first to have great grandchildren.  She was Heather!!!!!

Heather was killed in a motorcycle accident just a mile from home.  The accident from what I was told was horrible.  She was a passenger on the back of a crotch rocket bike and was hit by a car of illegals.  Yes this may offend some of you but that is ok.  It is only the truth.   Yes is is necessary to put this in this post as well.  The reason is because I hope someone will read it and take note on what their illegal actions can cause for others not only themselves.  The person that hit them had no drivers license, no insurance, and no green card and could hardly speak a lick of English.

You see on the night of October 6, 2008 my life and many others were changed forever.  That night I lost my daughter, my grandchildren lost their mother, my children lost their sister, my brothers and sister lost their niece and my cousins lost a cousin.  But what we lost was more than just a person.  We LOST a piece of our world, our heart, our life.

Heather was full of joy, love and happiness along with all the other emotions that we all go through.  She was special in every way.  She was a young mother who adored her children and her family.  She was going to school to become a nurse because she wanted to help people.  She never got in trouble, she believed in people, in love, in life.  She was a unique person to say the least.

There isn't a day that goes by that she isn't missed.  She will always be missed and the subject of a conversation in everyday life.  I pray for her every night and wish that I could just see her and hold her again.  That her children could see their mommy and know that she loves them.  That will never be the case because she is now in Heaven with her Nana and her Papaw.

She IS MISSING all of her childrens first.  Their first day at school, their first game, their first parent/teacher conference, their first award ceremony, their first crush, their first race day at school, their walk across the stage at graduation from kindergarten, middle school, high school and college, their walk down the isle to marry the love of their lives.  Their First Everything!!!!!!

This is a picture of the day that Heather brought home her son Aadyn to meet his big sister Kaylee.  The reaction from her was priceless.  From that moment on she was by his side and a protector.  She did the exact same thing that Heather did when I brought her baby sister home from the hospital to meet her.  Talking about Deja Vu.  It was so precious.  I knew from that moment that the bond they had was going to be unbreakable.

Today Kaylee is with her father and Aadyn is with his father.  I haven't gotten to see them in 5 years now.  I haven't gotten to talk to them either.  We miss them just as much as we miss their mommy.  I can only hope that they still get to see each other and know that their mommy loved them very much.  I pray that everyday I will be able to get on facebook and find pictures of them and that their dads and other grandparents will share them on facebook so that I and the rest of the world can see how they are growing up.  I know that they both look like their mom and that they are a constant reminder of Heather for them.  I just pray that they are being taken care of and loved as much as Heather loved them.

So in closing I am attaching the below poem that is perfectly said and to let everyone know that We still Love and Miss Heather and her children everyday.  Please keep us all in your prayers as this day is especially harder for us then most in our journey to learn to live without her in our lives.

****thank you Connie Foust for sharing this on the web. ******

Good morning or afternoon depending on when you are reading this.  Today is another edition of Wednesday Hodgepodge brought to you by Joyce from From This Side of the Pond.  So visit her site, get a copy of the questions and then link back up with her.  Also please let me know you stopped by.  I love to hear from new and veteran bloggers.

So without further ado here we go.......

1.What makes love last?
----  I think alot of things come into play.  One being compassionate, two being honest, three laughter.  All of these things are essential in having a long and strong relationship.  I couldn't tell you one specific thing because there are tons that goes into it.  But I think these 3 are a pretty good start.

2. The Beatles made their US debut fifty years ago this week. Are you a fan? If so, what's your favorite Beatles tune?
----  I don't follow them at all but I will listen to them if they are on the radio.

3. Valentine's Day-your thoughts? Do you celebrate in any way? Do anything special for the people you love? Expect anything special from the people who love you?
---- I don't really celebrate Valentines day.  I guess it is because all of my babies are now grown.  However, I do get my husband a card and buy my kids a Hershey Kiss.  Other then that I don't do much of anything.  As far as expecting am lucky if my husband remembers my birthday.

4. Steak or have to choose. Now that that's settled, how do you like it?
----Steak without a doubt.  As a matter of fact I am going to have a steak dinner tonight at Outback along with a bloomin' onion.  I love my steak medium rare with lots of flavor.

5. The Hodgepodge lands on the birthdate (February 12th) of Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States of America. Lincoln is quoted as saying,'Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test his character give him power.'  Do you agree? Why or why not?
----I would agree completely.  Men can be humble unless they have power, rather it be power tools, a power car, or office power.  They all seem to let it go to their head and totally forget that it is the women that is really in power.  I guess that is why they call cars..."she".  Just saying.

6. Honest Abe's image is featured on the US penny (1 cent coin) so I'm wondering...what do you do with your pennies (or your country's equivalent)?  It's been suggested the US stop making the penny, and two bills have been introduced proposing just that, but neither were approved. What say you?
----- I save my pennies and then eventually cash them out.  Mostly my husband keeps them so he can use it as his "special" money.  Which is fine with me because that is less money out of the house money.

7.  Do you think pop culture deserves serious study?
-----  I would say no.  Because everything constantly changes.  I think they can use that time and money on a more productive study such as curing cancer or another disease.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
----  This weekend has been hell for me.  Friday night I spent it in the ER because apparently I have a  nodule on my thyroid. I had to reschedule my daughters New Mommy and Me class because I was so exhausted and then Saturday I had a 6 hour event on my feet and Sunday rolls around and I have to take my daughter to the ER because she is pregnant and has kidney stones.  After being there for 7 hrs they decide to admit her.  When leaving the hospital, it started snowing and I twisted my ankle.  So I am ready for just some relaxation and hoping that my daughter gets better.

What a Weekend this has been....ughhhhh

I swear this picture above describes me perfectly this weekend.  I am so exhausted that it isn't even funny.   It all started Friday night.  It was a nightmare.  So Friday is here and I am feeling great that another week is past at work and we have a new girl starting on Monday....woo hoo.  Well Friday night about 10:30 I notice that my throat is starting to swell for no reason.  At first I didn't think anything of it until about 11:30 when I noticed it had gotten worse.  Now I am not talking swelling up from the inside with a soar throat.  I am talking about swelling up like a whelp on the outside of my throat.

Needless to say I was concerned and scared.  I decided to go to the hospital and have them check it out.  My husband offered to go with me but he had to be up at 5 in the morning on Saturday to go to work.  Go figure the one Saturday he has to go to work and I am at the hospital.  I just kept telling myself that it was probably something silly and nothing to worry about.   So I get to the hospital and they hook me up to the oxygen sensor, the heart monitors and the bp machine.  My bp is extremely high for me, the heart monitor I couldn't see but I am sure it was wacky also and everytime that I closed my eyes to doze off the machine started going crazy because apparently my respiration kept bottoming out.

Can we say scary.  I just kept telling myself that it was going to be ok and talking to God and a good friend of mine on facebook messaging.  So finally they came in and gave me a steroid shot and told me they were going to send me for a CT Scan because the doctor didn't know what was wrong.  Ok no big deal I can do this.  So I get hooked up for the CT Scan and then they put the dye in my arm and I about lost it.  OMG I was freaking out so bad that I thought I was going to have a panic attack.  It was only about 15-20 seconds but it felt like a lifetime.  Then the doctor came in and told me that I had a nodule on my thyroid.  Great here we go again I thought.  My son just went through this about a year and a half ago.  So I know what to expect but everyone is different.  I was exhausted when I came home so I crashed on the couch.  My husband woke me up a little after 5 Saturday morning so I could be up to take my pregnant daughter to Mommy and Me classes.  I was so exhausted I couldn't take her.  I felt horrible but I knew it wouldn't be safe for me to drive her.  So she rescheduled.

I then did an Avon event at our local mall for Avon's 1 Million Lips 1 Million Smiles event.  I was on my feet for 5 hours and again I was exhausted when it was over.  So Sunday rolls around and I get up for Church on time and we go to church and the sermon is about Affliction.  Wasn't this just right on cue.

Well then my daughter asks me about 2 to take her to the hospital because she has been dealing with Kidney stones and they are bothering her again and she can't handle the pain any longer.  So I do 2 quick deliveries on the way to the hospital and we get there and we are there for 6 hours before they decide they are going to admit her.  So at 9:30 I get to come home.  What do I see when I come out of the hospital?????  Yeap you guessed it SNOW!!!!!  I am so sick of this weather, this cold, this exhaustion, my daughter being sick with a kidney stone and now my thyroid.  I just wish we were all healthy, happy, and comfortable.

So as I was in church this morning I was praying for God to guide me through this and to help my daughter get better so she can have a happy healthy baby.  I know that all things are happening through him and for his greater good.  However, I am still exhausted, I am still tired of being tired, I am so wanting to make my daughter better so she don't have to have a miserable pregnancy, I want the weather to warm up and for everything to be alright again.

So with all of that being said and it taking so long to read.  I am going to throw my last load of laundry in the drier and then carry my self to the couch and crash out because I honestly don't think I can make it to the bed where my husband is happily sleeping and snoring.

So to all of you out there in blog land, I wish you peace, happiness, health, and a good night.  Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you good people tomorrow.

Wednesday HodgePodge Volume 161

Well it is that time again to join Joyce over at From This Side of The Pond for another Wednesday Hodgepodge.  So be sure you leave me a comment to let me know you stopped by and join in on the fun by clicking on the link above.  Also be sure to stop over at my page Fun and Amazing Facts about your State and Link up and share what is amazing about your state.

Man what a wicked week this has been with all this crazy weather.  Last night we got sleet like I have never seen before and it was crazy.   Hope wherever you are that you stayed safe and warm.

1. Are we always responsible for our actions? Are there any exceptions?

----   I would say YES!!!!!  I believe that we are the only ones responsible for our actions regardless of the situation.  No Exceptions.

2.  Has anyone from your home town become famous?
-----  Yes Jennifer Lawrence along with many others.

3. January was National Slow Cooker month. Do you own a slow cooker/crock pot? Did you use it last month? What's a favorite dish you make using a slow cooker or crock pot?
------  Yes and it was pot roast....yummmmmmmyyyyy

4. How do you feel about private companies collecting data about you?
-------  It doesn't really bother me considering my credit report is on a rebound.  I just think it is funny because sure doesn't have anything on me other then what I have added myself.

5. The Games of the 2014 Winter Olympics kick off with their opening ceremony this coming Friday....will you be watching? Which Winter Olympic event would you most like to see in person? Have you ever been to Russia? Any desire to go, Olympics or otherwise?
------- I don't really pay attention to the Olympics unless I am flipping through and see the gymnastics part and then I might watch for a few minutes. The gymnastics has always amazed me because they are able to do the things they do with such precision and grace.

6. Share a good or bad sports related memory from your childhood or teen years.
-----  I never played sports in school however, I used to play softball and football with the neighborhood kids.  It felt great because we were always encouraging each other and having a great time.  We were only worried about who was going to be on our team and not what each other did or didn't do.

7. What's a must have song for you on a work out play list? If you don't work out, run, swim, bike, walk, or anything else that could be construed as 'exercise', then what's a song that movtivates you to at least get up off the couch?
-------  Oh wow this is a hard one.  I would have to say that it would be Baby Got Back by Sir Mix Alot.  Just because it is so upbeat and makes you want to move.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
----- These past couple of weeks has been really busy and crazy at work.  I am so happy to report that we will have a new girl starting Monday and I can't wait!!!!!!  I am also sick and tired of this weather.  My son called me this morning after I got to work to inform me that the power is out.  I told him there wasn't anything I could do and he would have to wait it out.  I just hope it comes back on before I have to take my daughter to her OB appointment this afternoon for the baby.
