Movie Review

FireProof

FireProof The Movie

My husband and I got it as a giftfor Christmas. My husband was kind of sarcastic about it when he was handed the movie and said oh great a movie about "foundation savers". Needless to say I smacked him and told him that wasn't nice. You have to understand that my husband is in the fire extinguisher business and he is the actual "foundation saver" so to speak. Don't get us wrong we respect firefighters but apparently they have nicknames for anyone who works in public service.

The movie has a great plot and the acting was great. I read on the cover that it was a movie about a fireman who had his firehouse in order but had difficulty with keeping his home in order. Ok sounds good I will watch. I did not realize at the time that it was a spiritual movie. Don't let that stop you from watching it!! There are alot of scenes in the movie that both my husband and I looked at each other on and responded with "how true". This movie will make you do some thinking that is for sure.

Now even though there is several scripture versus mentioned and references to God, I did not find it to be overly religious. I go to church and have been since my husband and I got together 3 yrs ago. I have been reading the Bible, I have even bought 2 Bibles and I still don't understand alot of it. However, this movie makes some of it perfectly clear in todays language. The Examples it gives is remarkable and it does make you think.

My husband and I previously had a conversation about how things are going in our marriage and my number one issue was that "we don't do anything together", because everytime I ask him to go somewhere with me he wouldn't. His response was "well it don't take two of us to go to the store, you can make decisions on your own". Now I am sure that you ladies are probably picking up on what I was really saying, he however, CLUELESS!!!!! This is one of the things this movie touches on, COMMUNICATION, COMMUNICATION, COMMUNICATION. You have to communicate clearly, rather you think they should know what you want or what you are thinking, you still have to communicate it clearly.

It talks about taking the other person for granted, making the other feel less then desirable, and a variety of other emotions. For more information on the concept of the movie CLICK HERE

I didn't realize that there was actually such a book called "The Love Dare" by Stephen Kendrick which I can't wait to get my hands on. This book is not just a book for couples in trouble but a book to make your marriage stronger and your love more true. To see more on the concept you can check it out Right Here

The soundtrack on the movie was great as well. I will be finding out where to get that at also. I do have to say that you will need to have some Kleenex handy or at least I did. I cried towards the end but not alot. I can't handle watching a grown man cry...lol. So in closing I give this movie 2 thumbs up and highly recommend it.
